WMG / Murder in the Alps

Spoilers abound.

Albert Bernstein is the puppet master behind everything.
Osvald Bernstein's father, Albert, might be more important than the game lets on. Not only is the character mysterious enough with his face never shown and the game not clarifying why the father of Albert's wife, Flora, disapproved of Albert nor what happened to Albert after leaving his family, but he shares the same name as the cargo ship "König Albert" (translates to "King Albert" in German) used by smugglers with known German and South American ties as featured in the chapters Dancing with the Beasts and Exiled Dead. Albert interestingly has a German surname and moved specifically to South America with his wife. The game likely wouldn't specify such specific details for no reason.

Anna Myers is Carla Page's ancestor.
There's no evidence for this, but there's no evidence against this. It's just fun to think of Carla in the present-day from Murder By Choice as a Spin-Offspring of Anna in the 1920s-1930s as both protagonists from murder mystery hidden object games by Nordcurrent.

Murder in the Alps was only meant to be Deadly Snowstorm and The Phantom.
The game files sometimes refer to "The Phantom" as "Collector's Edition". Hidden object games tend to have a collector's edition where, along with the main chapter, a smaller bonus chapter is included. It's possible the game was originally only going to have Deadly Snowstorm as the main chapter and The Phantom as the bonus chapter like a standard hidden object game. That's why the art style for the comic cutscenes for Atlantic Connection is different despite being released along with the other first two chapters: the developers didn't intend to make Atlantic Connection, by which point they needed to employ different artists for this chapter. There's also footage all the way back in 2016 showing a version of the game where only Deadly Snowstorm is playable from the main menu, somewhat adding to this theory. It can also be arguable that the writers of these chapters didn't anticipate future chapters like in Part 2 and Part 3 because of how different the writing can be in these Parts.

Characters with a higher ego are portrayed more youthfully in the comic cutscenes of Part 3.
In Part 3, sometimes some of the characters' depictions in the comic cutscenes look a bit off compared to how they actually look like in-game. This is especially consistently seen with Oskar, Dr. Sachs, Max, and Georgette. However, because these characters arguably all have an inflated sense of themselves in some way, it's possible their inconsistent appearances are intentional to indicate how highly they view themselves.
