Globin is stated to be like a living human body, with insides that look like flesh with veins running through it. And on the outside, it's appearance is straight-up just a red blood cell. These traits are all reminiscent of locations in Terraria worlds that have been taken over by the Crimson biome: A Genius Loci that looks like a bloody, living mass of Body Horror.
