Vic Flint will die at the end of the story
In Chapter 13, Diamond and Vic finally confess their love to each other... then Diamond's parents tell her that they are planning to kill every last Flint. Given that it's a mob story and inspired by Romeo and Juliet (which ends in a tragedy), it's not too much of a stretch to believe that Vic would kick the bucket at the end. It wouldn't be the first Choices story where the only love interest dies in the final chapter.- The end of Chapter 19 and the description for Chapter 20 makes it even more likely, although Vic is alive, albeit unconscious, at the end of Chapter 20. Their fate will be revealed in Chapter 21.
- JOSSED! Vic recovers, the Big Bad is taken down, and he/she and Diamond live Happily Ever After.
Will the book have a sequel?
It's a gender-locked single love interest book with quite a few unanswered questions despite there being only one chapter left of "Book 1", which improves its chances. However, there are still books in the same boat that could have had sequels and turned out to be standalones. The announcement will almost certainly come on April 3, 2023 (which is a Monday, when the chapters for the week are announced on PB's social media).- Update: It's a standalone.
