Who wrote the Inda books?

Word of God suggests that a specific character narrated the Inda books. In Banner of the Damned, set about 400 years after the days of Inda, it is mentioned that there are two versions of Fox's memoir - an abridged version which became more and more abridged as time went on, serving as a history lesson to his descendants/Academy textbook, and a secret, complete version which is kept within a hidden chamber in Darchelde. In Banner of the Damned it is also revealed that there is an in-universe way of experiencing events through other people's eyes, by a form of passive possession which allows one to feel and hear and see and think everything the person saw during the event. Fox apparently had access to this power, so it seems plausible that he wrote the Inda books and that they are his secret memoir.

However, the books are written as if from the viewpoint of someone who is looking back on ancient history, having been familiar with more recent history and also with the way people after the days of Inda would later characterize specific events that occur during the series. Fox 'sailed out of time' and would not have witnessed any of those later historical situations, nor known about what would become established history regarding any of the in-story events after Inda's death.

But there is one character who may have. A character who takes an interest in Inda and in the Marlovans and Venn, and whose motivations and personal thoughts or feelings on anything are never given to the reader as he is only shown from the perspective of other characters. This character is also the only character who shows up in the Inda series that is still alive and present in the world of Sartorias-Deles as of Banner of the Damned.
