The fabled Castle Above the World will be to this game what Boutoumme
was to the prequel

It may even be the game's final area, and of course, will feature an astoundingly emotional confrontation with a Climax Boss of some kind. The castle coming crashing down will be entirely optional, but not unexpected.

  • Somewhat Confirmed. The journey to the castle does involve a protracted sequence of going in and out of the Pillar much like in the first game. Raven is also involved, though this time she's accompanying and helping Kat rather than trying to stop her. Though while there is a Climax Boss, it's fought back in Heckseville.

The two "angels" seen in the 2016 trailer will turn out to be inhabitants of the Castle, or agents from whatever land exists where it is.

And they will both know Kat due to her Mysterious Past, but will be incredibly vague about it until the point in the story with the most dramatic impact. Due to their rather opposite designations ("Guardian Angel" vs "Angel of Destruction"), they will almost certainly be at odds, and their conflict will play a large role in the plot, if at least in the background.

Durga will likely be a Well-Intentioned Extremist. The Hindu goddess Durga is known as an almighty slayer of evil; the angel Durga will have come down to destroy the abominations known as Nevi, but will not be too fond of humans due to their nature making them liable to collude with Nevi as proven by D'nelica. She may enter in conflict with Kat over her disregard for humanity in such a case.

Kali, on the other hand, may try her hand at the same kind of superhero-ism that Kat embraced. It helps she's dressed the part. The goddess Kali is known as a ferocious demon-slaying figure that is also linked with motherly love; angel Kali will probably get along swimmingly with Kat due to having a strong sense of justice, but may get too into it and possibly screw up at some point due to being Hotblooded. The juxtaposition of one who fights evil at all costs and one who does not desire to make sacrifices will be the fuel of their ideological conflict.

If any of this happens at all, of course.

  • COMPLETELY Jossed. The angels have no connection whatsoever with the Castle, or any other established powers, to the point of almost being Outside Context. They're actually the minions=/=creations of the second Act's Big Bad Dr. Brahman.
    • Hah, yeah. Original poster here, and I realized how utterly off the mark this one was as soon as I met the actual Kali and Durga in the game.

Yunica will have joined Delta Team.

One of the Delta Team members we see is clearly female and clashes head-on with Kat in a manner that is entirely evocative of Yunica's Air Jousting style. This is Yunica. She joined an organized resistance after the first game due to the military being taken over by a corrupt official who may have been in cahoots with D'nelica, and here she's just stopping Kat from interrupting their operations when Kat disagrees with the Well-Intentioned Extremist approach.

  • Mostly Confirmed, though minus any involvement from D'nelica, who is never mentioned at all.
    • Original Poster here: I contend the remark of no involvement from D'nelica. Yunica does state that Jellyfish went underground on his orders.

Elektricitie is related to Kat in some way

While we only seen them briefly, Elektricitie's eyes are the exact same shade of red that Kat's eyes are, and her hair is even similar to Kat's. Likewise, she addresses Kat by her true name of Alua, despite the suggestion that Elektricitie is nearly ancient by the time of the game. This could mean Elektricitie is some kind of ancestor to Kat, which would also explain why Kat seemed to be the only one who could see Elektricitie's projection.
