The night watchman knows the toys (or at least Corduroy) are alive.
- It explains why he doesn't investigate further when he finds Corduroy after he made a crashing sound. When he finds Corduroy, he knows it was Corduroy who made it. Also, given that he works during night hours, and that's apparently when the toys come to life, logically he would be aware that they do.
