Trivia / Corduroy

Go To

  • Children Voicing Children: In the Nelvana series, Corduroy was voiced by Asa Perlman.
  • Development Hell: Information on the live-action/CGI film adaptation of the story has been moving very slowly. It was first announced on November 14th, 2016 by CBS Films, but news on the film's production wouldn't resurface until December 11th, 2020 when Tim Story was announced as the movie's director and was moved to Paramount.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The Adventures of Corduroy only got four episodes that were never released on DVD. They can still be found on VHS and have been uploaded to YouTube.
  • Outlived Its Creator: Don Freeman passed away in 1978 not long after the release of the sequel book A Pocket For Corduroy. Beginning in the 1990s, newer books starring Corduroy were released under a different illustrator and a different universe (Corduroy lives in a world where toys are alive instead of a real-world setting) with the notable absence of Lisa and other human characters. However, two official follow-ups (Corduroy Lost And Found and Corduroy Takes A Bow) and a prequel book (A Christmas Wish For Corduroy) are a direct continuation of the original Freeman books.
  • Milestone Celebration: In honor of the original book's 40th anniversary in 2018, a third book titled Corduroy Takes A Bow was released in its honor.
