The events of the game and comic are the Piltoverian retelling of events.

Hence why Camille is much nicer, a lot of Zaunies have their characterizations flattened out or feel extraneous: this is Piltover's version of what happened. (The Zaunite retelling isn't completely accurate either, but it's still much more accurate-about 75-85% accurate to Piltover's 30%.)
