The black ribbon movement in later books grew out of the events of Carpe Jugulum

The reverse goth scene

  • If growing your hair short and pretending to a an accountant is the Vampire equivalent of being goth, then is becoming a black ribboner going full time on the lifestyle?
  • Then again a lot of black ribboners still wear evening dress and don't change their names.

Displaced cravings

  • Granny's trick of infecting the vampires with her showed a lot of other vampires present that you can displace the craving for human blood with the craving for a cuppa.

Granny's parting gift to Oats led directly to the events of Unseen Academicals.
When he encountered young Nutt chained to the anvil and was preparing to cut the chain, it's unlikely that the locals would allow it. But all he'd need to do is hand the young orc the phoenix feather, to prove it wouldn't burn the child, then invite anyone who still tried to stop him to grasp it as well.

The Count wasn't a vampire when he helped write the Omnian holy books
  • The Count mentions that he knew Ossory and helped write the various books about monsters. From what we saw of Omnia in Small Gods, for all their faults, they weren't hypocrites. It's doubtful that they'd let an actual vampire write their books, so maybe the Count wasn't one when he wrote for them.
