Get your M1911 reloaded. It's gonna be a long day.

Zombies Monsters Robots, known as Hazard Ops in select other countries, or simply ZMR, is a Third-Person Shooter for PC that certainly takes advantage of Exactly What It Says on the Tin.

An expanding empire known only as "The Dominion" has opened up portals to many other dimensions, namely, hell itself. Thanks to this, a massive amount of zombies have begun attacking the world, infecting others along the way. The virus hasn't just infected people, it's infected the world. London is drowning in grimy water with unknown bug creatures inside, China has a massive portal to hell in the middle, and Egypt's pyramids have been transformed into death mazes by a zombie woman with magical powers claiming to be a goddess. Making matters worse, the Dominion's not done. They've attacked America, with sheer power. The government has called for more space exploration in hopes of escaping Earth, which the Dominion has dispatched their Valkyrie Commander Stone and her division to stop. A sea craft carrying nuclear weapons has been hijacked.

This is where you come in. A group of mercenaries working for corporations, you're sent off to solve these problems, with lots and lots of More Dakka. You venture through these locations, while simultaneously bringing down enemies, or defend specific locations, or alternatively, Kill Everything. The game has many modes, both PVE, with an Excuse Plot, or PVP which has an even excusier Excuse Plot. Players are left with minimal equipment, levelling up and gaining more, or alternatively, renting it via gold and En Masse Points (EMP).

It was released in 2014, and is free to play on Steam.

Tropes associated with this work are:

  • Abandoned Hospital: Well, not as much abandoned as taken over by zombies, but it achieves the same effect.
  • Allegedly Free Game: Averted. The game, despite having an in-game currency allowing access to powerful combat weapons, allows you to rent the average, Boring, but Practical guns.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: The Cyclone Gun. It's a More Dakka minigun but it also restricts movement, doesn't allow rolling or taking cover, is horribly inaccurate, even when aiming, along with the fact that it requires taking it off the body of a Cyclone Trooper, who, more often than not, will be supported by Thralls, keeping you away from its position.
    • Melee weapons also apply. They look cool, and you'll probably look like a complete badass when using them, but, on the other hand, they require getting up close and personal with enemies to use them. In a shooter. Which means most enemies will have guns. And while that's taken down a notch when fighting zombies, executions are not. They're only available against enemies in the aforementioned modes with guns.
  • Boring, but Practical: Normal weapons. Special mention goes to the M1911 and SCAR-L, which you start with, and can save you through the whole mode. But due to the omnipresence of assault rifles, SMGs, and shotguns, you're best sticking with those, rather than, say, the uber-cool lightning crossbow or Laser Blade.
  • Death Is Cheap: All it takes is a revive token to bring somebody back. You only have 3 free revives per round, and then you have to spend actual revive tokens. However, participate in the Shooting Ranges, you'll be set for life with revive tokens.
  • More Dakka: Um, duh.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: Averted most of the time, the zombies are ususally well-contained and are mostly non-infectious due to being magic-based. On the other hand, London is flooded, and filled with Shamblers and other assorted hellspawn, which ''can'' infect.
