Transformers: Forged to Fight (formerly Transformers: Generations Collide) is a 2017 free-to-play mobile game developed by Kabam for iOS and Android, based on the Transformers series, more specifically G1, Beast Wars, and the original five live-action movies.

The game is a Mascot Fighter similar to Kabam's Marvel: Contest of Champions, with many similar modes and mechanics.

The game was originally shut down in January 2023, but was Un-Cancelled in May of the same year, though it requires a Netflix account in order to play and doesn't have bots from the live-action movies.

    The Bots

G1 Autobots

Movie Autobots (Exclusive to original version)

G1 Decepticons

Movie Decepticons (Exclusive to original version)

Maximals

Predacons

Sharkticons

This game contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: The revived version changes several bots' classes to compensate for some bots being Adapted Out:
    • Windblade: Scout→Warrior
    • Skywarp: Tech→Scout
    • Soundblaster: Tactician→Demolitions
    • Chromia was going to be a Tech in the original release, but the game was shut down before she could be added. However, the revived version changes her to a Warrior.
  • Adapted Out: Likely due to licensing issues, the revived version doesn't have any bots from the live-action movies in it.
  • Car Fu / Ramming Always Works: The most common form of heavy attack involves the bot transforming into their alt-mode, driving/flying into their opponent at high speed, U-turning, and transforming back. Some special attacks involve this as well.
  • Chromatic Rock Paper Scissors: The game's six classes are associated with a color and are part of a Tactical Rock–Paper–Scissors mechanic: Warriors (red) beat Scouts (green) beat Techs (aqua) beat Demolitions (yellow) beat Tacticians (blue) beat Brawlers (purple) beat Warriors.
  • Drone Deployer: Blaster, Soundwave, and Soundblaster all deploy their tapes in some of their attacks: Blaster has Rewind and Steeljaw, Soundwave has Laserbeak and Ravage, and Soundblaster has Buzzsaw and Howlback.
  • Enemy Mine: In the story, the Autobots, Decepticons, Maximals, and Predacons are all working together to fight the foes they encounter on New Quintessa, and there's nothing stopping members of factions that would normally oppose each other (including the Sharkticons) from being on the same squad as each other.
  • Ground Pound: Grimlock's level 2 special attack involves him butt-stomping his opponent. In another sense, part of G1 Megatron and Motormaster's level 3 specials involve them dropping onto their opponent in their tank and truck forms respectively.
  • I Know Madden Kombat: Dead End's level 3 special attack ends with him using the exhaust pipe he uses as a weapon to hit a grenade towards his opponent like it's a baseball.
  • Intra-Franchise Crossover: A crossover between the G1, Beast Wars, and, in the original version, live-action pentalogy continuities.
  • Limit Break: Every bot has three different levels of meter-dependent special attacks, with the third being unblockable and usually involving the bot's alt-mode.
  • Mini-Me: Some of Shockwave's special attacks have him using a gun that resembles a smaller version of his alt-mode.
  • Mythology Gag: This game LOVES them. Here are some:
    • Galvatron's level 1 special attack, "Particle Acceleration," has him use his Particle Cannon to perform a rocket-boosted tackle, inspired by the scene in The Transformers: The Movie where he uses his particle cannon to fly to his spaceship. His level 3 special attack, "Galvagun Overcharge," is inspired by the scene where he kills Starscream, with the description even reading "Will Galvatron’s enemy withstand the attack? Here’s a hint: Go ask Starscream."
    • If Movie Megatron is in the same squad as Grindor, Bonecrusher, and/or Barricade, Megatron gives the other three the "Forged to Lead" synergy bonus while getting the "Forged to Serve" synergy bonus from them. This references Megatron's team from the first movie, with Grindor being a Suspiciously Similar Substitute for Blackout.
    • Shockwave's level 1 special attack, "Shockblast," comes from the name of his Transformers: Energon incarnation.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Rhinox's level 2 special attack, "Chainguns of Doom," doesn't involve him firing any projectiles at all, since the blades on his hands have to make contact with the opponent to damage them.
  • Shout-Out:
    • In one mission, Jazz says that Tantrum's bull alt-mode looks like the mascot for a basketball team on Earth, referencing the Chicago Bulls.
    • Some pieces of dialogue in Blaster's spotlight mission reference Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, with one chapter even being titled "Fight the Power."
  • Theme Naming: Dinobot's special attacks have alliterative names derived from the three periods of the Mesozoic era: Triassic Turbulence, Jurassic Justice, and Cretaceous Carnage.
  • Threatening Shark: The Sharkticons, of course, who look more sharklike here than they did in the G1 cartoon.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Bludgeon and Drift throw swords for their ranged attacks and Sunstreaker's level 3 special attack ends with him throwing his sword at his opponent.
  • Weaponized Exhaust: Some of the Seekers' attacks include jet-enhanced kicks, part of Jetfire's level 3 special attack involves him damaging the opponent with the supersonic shockwave from him taking off in jet mode, and Windblade's projectile attacks come from the VTOL engines on her wings, with both her and Slipstream ending their level 3 special attacks (since they share animations with each other) by blasting their opponents with a stream of exhaust from both engines simultaneously.
