Time Twins Mosaics is a Puzzle Game series by Anawiki Games based on Picross. Each game has 120 puzzles spread across 20 stages. Each puzzle in a stage shows just one part of the whole picture. You have to fill each square with the correct color and dot those which aren't going to be filled by it (or any others in some cases). Avoid making more than five mistakes and don't rush things.

Games in the series:

  • Time Twins Mosaics (August 2018)
  • Time Twins Mosaics: Tales of Avalon (September 2019)
  • Time Twins Mosaics: Haunted Images (October 2019)
  • Time Twins Mosaics: Winter Splash (December 2020)

This game provides examples of:

  • Achievement Mockery: The Mistakes achievements are earned for making mistakes while solving mosaics.
  • Flawless Victory: Beating a level with no mistakes grants all three stars for it.
  • Gameplay Grading: You get stars based on how few mistakes you've made while solving the level.
  • Guilt-Based Gaming: Trying to quit the game makes it ask if Mama won't let you play anymore.
  • Hint System: You can push a Hint button three times in one level to let the game reveal two tiles.
  • Marathon Level: Most of the levels are bigger than 15x20. You also have to mark several colors and the places they don't apply for each one. Expect to spend more than 15 minutes on some of these.
  • Mini-Game: Money earned from uncovering tiles can be spent on unlocking minigames like Naval Battle or Sapper.
  • Nintendo Hard: Right off the bat, the game has stages that are 15x20, unlike many games which gently let players in with 5x5 and 10x10 puzzles. Additionally, you can only make five mistakes during each level, which can be drained all too easily if you wrongly fill/dot multiple squares at once. However, all of the puzzles are designed fairly so trying different colors and strategies can let you proceed without guesswork, and there's an easy mode option that crosses squares instantly.
  • Platinum Makes Everything Shinier: Platinum versions of achievements are one step above Gold.
