Til Cows Tear Us Apart
is a fun little interactive fiction game available on Kongregate. The story is simple and choice based with certain decisions impacting the way that events unfold. The player takes on the role of a young outlaw named Enora alongside her alien friend Quanee. Both women have just stolen a herd of cows from one of the most ruthless men in the galaxy and intend to sell them on Truxton for a nice payday. Just try not to lose all of your cows...
- Action Girl: Both characters are space outlaws, and some situations give the player the option of fighting. In one of the endings Enora even joins the military after losing Quanee.
- Aliens Steal Cattle: Played with. The plot centers around stolen cows on a spaceship, but they were already in space; the actual crime is more akin to cattle rustling.
- Amicable Exes: It's heavily implied that Louise, an outlaw captain, is Enora's ex-girlfriend. They had a falling out but seem to get on pretty well regardless. Louise even comes back to rescue them under certain conditions.
- Bestiality Is Depraved: There's a reason Truxton pays so much for cows. Quanee's taken aback, but Enora doesn't seem to care, or at least cares about the payoff more.
- Big Damn Heroes: Depending on the choices made, different characters might show up to assist the protagonists when they get confronted by bounty hunters due to becoming the most wanted people in the universe.
- Bittersweet Ending: At least a few of the endings. For example, it's possible to lose all your cows before making it to your destination, robbing you of your big payday but allowing both characters to live. In another ending Quanee sacrifices herself to save Enora's life, which leads to her surviving but falling into a depression and joining the ongoing war with a possible death wish to meet her end in battle.
- Carnival of Killers: The bounty gets so high that some particularly weird characters show up to claim it. Even the news pundit covering the story joins the hunt in hopes of becoming disgustingly wealthy.
- Green-Skinned Space Babe: Quanee, who is some sort of grayish-blue alien with a tail called an Ahopaloose.
- Multi Boobage: When the pair get stopped at a checkpoint, one of the options to get past has Enora claim that the two are on their way to entertain the soldiers of an ongoing space war. After asking to see their license, the following exchange happens:Enora: Quanee, show your boobs.
Quanee: What?
Enora: You heard him, he wants to see our "license". Go on, show your boobs.
Quanee: But why me?
Enora: You've got more of 'em.
Quanee: *sigh* *unbuttons shirt* - Multiple Endings: There are several different endings that players can unlock depending on the choices they make at critical moments.
- Outlaw Couple: It's unclear how serious of a relationship Enora and Quanee have, but it's definitely intimate and they're on the run from a ranching corporation.
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: If the player has Enora convince Kasper to agree to a duel, he shoots her on the spot. This enrages Quanee to the point that she immediately massacres several of Kasper's men before killing the man himself. By the time she comes back on board her own ship, she is covered in blood.
- Set a Mook to Kill a Mook: The bounty hunter scene normally involves a rescuer. If you don't have one, Quanee uses the ship's teleporter to trick the enemies into infighting.
- Shout-Out: Several. Some of the endings include Blazing Saddles and A Fistful of Dollars. The game also gives the player a "See you Space Cowgirls" achievement when they win, regardless of ending.
- Space Western: Imagine Cowboy Bebop as an old school interactive pixel game.
- Teleportation: The ship is able to transport the cows to a destination at a press of a button.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Enora can open fire on a group of Ahopaloose. Quanee is understandably horrified, and Enora doesn't even try to excuse herself; she simply states that she's a monster, but she's Quanee's monster.
