The Simpsons: Bart & the Beanstalk is a Platform Game released for the Game Boy in 1994 by Software Creations and Acclaim.
As the title suggests, The game is a massive Beanstalk Parody involving the Simpsons universe. Once upon a time, Bart had a cow, man. He sells the cow to Monty the Miser (Mr. Burns) for some magic beans, which grows into a massive beanstalk that reaches into the sky. Bart grabs his slingshot and embarks on an adventure to climb the beanstalk, fend off the dangers on the way, and hopefully swipe Homer the Giant's Loot and become a zillionaire.
"Bart and the Beanstalk" contains examples of:
- Beanstalk Parody: It's Jack and the Beanstalk, with a Simpsons twist.
- Big Creepy-Crawlies: Some of the enemies are very large bugs who are about the size of Bart.
- Brats with Slingshots: Bart can attack enemies with his slingshot.
- Identical Stranger: This game features Homer the Giant, and Homer himself. Lampshaded in the ending where Homer comments "That's only ugly Giant" when he sees him.
- Level in the Clouds: The first two stages have this setting, with Bart climbing across the beanstalk and jumping on Solid Clouds.
