The Legends of Hiro is an online action adventure game with a healthy dose of humor. You play as Hiro, who is visited by his deceased grandfather and tasked with finding three holy items to stop a demon apocolypse. Similar to many other web games the vast bulk of The Legends Of Hiro is simple puzzle solving and collecting items, though there are a few secrets to be found by attentive players.

Available on Newgrounds.

Tropes that apply to The Legends Of Hiro include:

  • Action Girl: Mihari. Hiro would rather fight a demon than try and fight her. To get past her he has to put her to sleep first and then take her sword.
  • The Alcoholic: Skum is found hungover sitting by a barrel of booze. Hiro remarks that this is completely usual for him.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Hiro gets a mild Freak Out when his deceased grandfather tells him he's been watching him and assures that there's nothing bad about what Hiro does in his bed. Said thing actually involves Hiro wiping his nose into his bedcloth.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: The characters love doing this, especially Hiro himself.
  • Creator Cameo: A hidden side quest allows Hiro to meet the man who made the game and receive a special item from him.
  • Cutscene Boss: The demon goes down as soon as you use the sword on it, making it impossible to actually lose.
  • Fanservice: When Hiro chooses to look at something, most of the time he just gives a short description of the object, but if the player chooses to look at one of the many female NPCs, they are treated to a detailed portrait along with the description.
  • Porn Stash: Hiro is implied to keep one of these inside his cupboard.
  • Punny Name: Majutsu the magician whose name means Magic in Japanese.
  • Signature Headgear: Hiro wears a pretty nice one, but his friend Majutsu has one that defies the laws of physics!
  • The Stoner: With his signature attire and always laid-back attitude, Hiro is strongly implied to be one.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Using the touch button on female characters elicts this kind of response.
