The Fuel Tree is an Idle Game made in The Modding Tree by gapples2 and released in 2021. It does not have a tree, instead using tabs for its layers. You initially have to gain fuel based on points to burn it for energy that makes you get more points, with some upgrades and batteries unlocked later.

The game is playable here.

This game provides examples of:

  • A.I.-Generated Economy: The Autobuyer I upgrade makes the game buy all four buyables per tick by itself.
  • Cap: Fuel is initially capped at 1, which is increased with several upgrades, the second energy buyable, and batteries.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: While there are no layer nodes which would be colored, the buttons for tabs inside them do have colors.
    • Energy: Yellow
    • Batteries: Dark yellow
    • Resources: Brown
  • Export Save: You can push a button to export the 7KB+ save and another to import it.
  • Item Crafting: There's a layer where you can collect metal scraps and potentially combine them, but there's no use to this as of v.0.003.
  • Mutually Exclusive Power-Ups: You can only select one upgrade path for batteries at first. 3 batteries let you pick another, while 100 allows usage of all four.
  • Never Trust a Title: Despite having "Tree" in the title, this game does not have a tree structure unlike most of its contemporaries.
  • Skill Point Reset: You can reassign batteries to spend them on different upgrade paths. This does not reset anything else, though you can no longer do so once getting all four paths is possible.
