''The Fuel Tree'' is an IdleGame made in UsefulNotes/TheModdingTree by gapples2 and released in 2021. It does not have a tree, instead using tabs for its layers. You initially have to gain fuel based on points to burn it for energy that makes you get more points, with some upgrades and batteries unlocked later.

The game is playable [[https://gapples2.github.io/The-Modding-Tree/ here]].
----
!!This game provides examples of:
* AIGeneratedEconomy: The Autobuyer I upgrade makes the game buy all four buyables per tick by itself.
* {{Cap}}: Fuel is initially capped at 1, which is increased with several upgrades, the second energy buyable, and batteries.
* ColorCodedForYourConvenience: While there are no layer nodes which would be colored, the buttons for tabs inside them do have colors.
** Energy: Yellow
** Batteries: Dark yellow
** Resources: Brown
* ExportSave: You can push a button to export the 7KB+ save and another to import it.
* ItemCrafting: There's a layer where you can collect metal scraps and potentially combine them, but there's no use to this as of v.0.003.
* MutuallyExclusivePowerups: You can only select one upgrade path for batteries at first. 3 batteries let you pick another, while 100 allows usage of all four.
* NeverTrustATitle: Despite having "Tree" in the title, this game does not have a tree structure unlike most of its contemporaries.
* SkillPointReset: You can reassign batteries to spend them on different upgrade paths. This does not reset anything else, though you can no longer do so once getting all four paths is possible.
