Well, anyways, let's get started, shall we? We only have a few things to check up on.

Static Memories is a work in progress story-based Friday Night Funkin' mod inspired by Everywhere at the End of Funk, but unlike that Game Mod, this one has Boyfriend dealing with schizophrenia.

In an Alternate Universe, Boyfriend somehow ends up in an incident that kills Girlfriend and causes him to develop schizophrenia and depression. Four years later, he awakens at Heartpoint Hospital, where he would find music to be how he copes with his new mental issues.

This mod provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Heroism:
  • Adaptational Wimp: Girlfriend, an extremely powerful demon, died in a simple car crash prior to the events of this mod.
  • Alternate Universe: To both the main game and its inspiration.
    • The rap battles between Boyfriend and Daddy Dearest never took place. Instead, Boyfriend was writing music to prove his love for Girlfriend, though said music was put on hold after the accident.
    • Boyfriend started dating Girlfriend when they were 21, when they first started dating at 19 in the main game.
    • Rather than being an actual entity, Monster is a product of Boyfriend's schizophrenia.
    • Doctor Senpai, real name Doctor Charles Hart, is a doctor at Heartpoint Hospital, consisting of humans, yokais, and angels. The Hating Simulator still exists, but it is a game he made, with himself as the star.
  • Artifact Title: The name Static Memories came from the inspiration of Everywhere at the End of Funk, where Boyfriend has dementia. It was reworked into a separate mod where Boyfriend is being treated for schizophrenia and depression, but the name stuck.
  • Death by Adaptation: Girlfriend died prior to the events of the game.
  • Helpful Hallucination: Played With: Monster believes he's helping Boyfriend by telling him not to tell Doctor Senpai about him, thinking he'll be cooped up in a mental hospital for the rest of his life if he does, but in reality he's convincing Boyfriend to lie to someone who can give him the help he needs.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Boyfriend makes a pun out of Doctor Charles Hart's name ("I can tell you put a lot of Hart into your work). Charles himself doesn't mind, but Monster is unimpressed.
"...Really? Put a lot of HART into your work? Was that the best you could do?"
