Smashroom is an Indie Action Platform Game by Jonathan Calsolaro.
The forest has been overtaken by an evil curse. One that has invaded the forest with molds, and turned your human form into that of a small anthropomorphic mushroom.
Now it'll be up to you to lift this curse and, hopefully, get your body back.
The game was released on January 22nd, 2021.
Smashroom contains examples of:
- Action Bomb: Smashroom can blow himself up at will. He can use it to destroy obstacles, attack enemies, and propel himself upward.
- Character Level: By filling up the Experience Points meter in the top right corner of the screen, Smashroom can level up and level up one of four stats (Power, Health, Ice Power, and Fire Power).
- Crate Expectations: Among the objects Smashroom can destroy, there's crates.
- Death Throws: When Smashroom runs out of health, he curls up and leaps off the level.
- Experience Points: Can be collected by blowing up objects, collecting mushrooms, and defeating enemies. However, you lose some every time you die.
- Ground Pound: Jump, then press down.
- Life Meter: Located in the top left corner, made up of a line of hearts.
- Mushroom Man: The Player Character is a human changed into an anthropomorphic mushroom.
- One-Word Title: Smashroom, of course.
- Pun-Based Title: Smash + Mushroom = Smashroom.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: The rats have red eyes.
- Side View: How the game's viewed.
- Spikes of Doom: There are spikes that will damage Smashroom should he touch them.
- You Dirty Rat!: One of the enemy types you can face in the game is giant red-eyed rats.
