Skatebird is a skateboarding Video Game by Glass Bottom Games.
You are a bird owned by a skateboarder that you've named "Big Friend". Or at least he used to be a skateboarder before he gave that up. Now he's got a job that has him working t all hours, he's barely ever home, and his apartment is a mess.
You've become concerned for Big Friend. He needs to rediscover his love of skateboarding. But what's a bird to do? Why, get on your little skateboard and start shredding and grinding, of course! So that's what you're going to do. Good thing there's a lot of appropriately-sized things to double as ramps and rails.
The game was funded on Kickstarter on July 9th, 2019. It was ultimately released on September 16th, 2021.
Skatebird contains examples of:
- Character Customization: You can change your bird's species, and put various hats and accessories on him. You can also change the design on the skateboard, along with the colour of the wheels.
- Cool Board: You have a skateboard that's small enough for a bird to use.
- One-Word Title: Skatebird, of course.
- Pun-Based Title: Skateboard + Bird = Skatebird.
- Skate Heaven Is a Place on Earth: Since you're a skateboarding bird, the worlds are full of things like miniature ramps made of pizza boxes and grind rails made of bendy straws and pencils on top of erasers.
- Talking Animal: The birds in the game can talk to each other.
- Timed Mission: Some missions in the game involve completing certain objectives before the clock reaches zero.
