IF YOU SEE AN ANOMALY, TURN BACK
Shinkansen 0 is a J-Horror game made by Chilla's Art, and is heavily inspired by Exit 8. The plot is about a unnamed protagonist who must search for anomalies whilst making their way to the conductor's room. While they are making their way through the rooms, they encounter many characters, such as a little boy, his sister, a old man, and many passengers.

Shinkansen 0 contains examples of:

  • The Cameo: The "Product Placement" anomaly car. The trash scattered around show "cameos" of various VTubers in their wrappers, labels, etc.
  • Creepy Child: Naoki, who at first you find sitting alongside his sister, but later he explains the rules of the train.
  • Dissonant Serenity: One of the premium car anomalies is having everyone in the car with wide unnerving smiles.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There:
    • One of the easily-overloooked anomalies of the first seven cars. The sphere-like ornaments of the top of the seats often have eyeballs instead.
    • The cat poster had an anomaly where its poster eyes have been replaced with realistic ones that bulge out from the paper.
  • Glowing Eyes:
    • One of the creepiest passengers in the premium cars is a man with glowing green eyes. The eyes themselves aren't an anomaly but any difference to him certainly is.
    • Certain anomalies involve seeing glowing eyes staring at you from behind a window or in the glass section of the door leading to the next car.
  • Hidden Object Game: To advance the train cars, you must carefully look at everything in the car if there is a difference, referred to as anomalies in game.
  • Mirror Monster: Another easily-overlooked anomaly. Seeing your reflection in a window might show a part of of your reflection not in your current pose and is running to catch up to you. Another is the laptop lady's reflection showing a much macabre head position.
  • New Rules as the Plot Demands: In the first train cars, you move to the previous car if you find an anomaly or move forward if there isn't. Once you approach the premium train cars, Naoki appears and tell you that moving with anomalies is now opposite. Forward if there is, back if there isn't. Even the car numbers on the floor tells you to go forward if there is an anomaly from then on.
  • One-Hit Kill: Played with. There is no Game Over, but interacting with a hostile anomaly will send you back to the start (either of the normal or premium cars). They include touching the train conductor asking for your ticket, moving during the red light in the "Red Light Green Light" anomaly room, or being smashed by the train door man.
  • Unnaturally Looping Location: The cars look exactly the same from one another (unless there is an anomaly that makes it different). You know you're advancing correctly if the number on the floor is lower. Getting the number 7 resets your entire progress back to the beginning.
  • Your Princess Is in Another Castle!: You think after you pass the first seven cars, you will reach the conductor's car? Nope. Naoki appears in the in-between bathroom area to say you still need to pass the premium "first class" train cars spotting their anomalies and the stakes have gotten higher.
