Shantae & Asha: Dream Fantasia is a fan-game crossover between Monster World IV and Shantae, created by XBuster Zero.
The game takes place a year after the defeat Fear Incarnate by the efforts of the Chosen One Asha, and Monster World has now become relatively peaceful. Meanwhile, in another world, a half-genie girl named Shantae is told by a mysterious voice to follow it through a portal, and soon finds herself in Monster World. The two then team up in order to help Asha retrieve the ingredients necessary for an elixir to cure Asha's mother, who has fallen ill with the rare disease Pandora's Flu. Along the way, they meet many other people who have also find themselves trapped in Monster World.
- Big Bad: Sahirat, once a Sinister Minister who tried to poison Princess Shelia in the past and was exiled. The defeat of her four warlock brothers and their master Fear Incarnate allowed her to ascend and becoming an all-powerful being, now seeking to take control of the Dream Stream and turn everyone into puppets and revenge on Asha for killing her adoptive family.
- Fighting Your Friend: In the last world, you're faced against a Nightmare of the Princess in a Dual Boss against herself, and later Nightmares of Asha and Shantae against each other.
- Find the Cure!: To save Asha's mother, Shantae and Asha must find the ingredients for a cure.
- Villainous Breakdown: The Final Boss has a glorious one as they're defeated.
- Trapped in Another World:
- Shanatae is trapped in Asha's world due to going through a mysterious portal. It turns out that many other video game characters have also been transported to Monster World.
- Its revealed at the end that the machinations of Sahirat forced to gods of the Dream Stream, the Seers, to summon heroes from many alternate worlds to stop her.
- You Killed My Father: More like "brothers", but part of the reason Sahirat does what she does is because Asha killed her four warlock brothers and her master Fear Incarnate, vowing to make her pay.
