Steam page for the game.
Labeled "the first book in the Shadowgate Saga", the series was brought to virtual reality by Shadowgate VR; The Mines of Mythrok as part of the first game's 35th anniversary where the player travels Kal Torlin as they have not seen it in the past with a raven named Odin being the guide of the player and look at four settings on how difficult the game can be as the player seeks out what secrets the Mines of Mythrok has.
  • Atrocious Arthropods: Spiders are among the monsters that pursue the player.
  • Character Customization: The player can determine the gender of their character and which hand they use.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: The strength of a potion that heals the player depends on the color with blue being the weakest, purple being the strongest, and red being in between.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Odin is naturally a black raven but he will aid the players in the puzzles if they need help.
  • Die, Chair, Die!: The player can use their want to destroy a variety of objects from jars to barrels to crates.
  • Exposition Fairy: The player can converse with Odin the Raven in order procure hints from him in regards to puzzles.
  • The Faceless: The game is entirely in first person and we never get to see the player's face.
  • No Name Given: Of all the things the player can do with their avatar, they cannot be named.
  • Posthumous Character: Fingrin who unleashed an unspeakable terror in the mines was dead for 10,000 years by the time the events of the game run.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Purple potions are the most efficient items at restoring lost health.
  • Team Pet: Odin is Lakmir's raven and will aid the player in solving puzzles if they are having trouble.
  • Title Drop: The setting of the game is the eponymous Mines of Mythrok the player is sent to.
