One day on the mountain Furple was playing with a butterfly, only to encounter a big, bad wolf who terrorizes the cats of the mountain. Good news, Furple managed to get away from his grasp by a floating piece of ice that goes down the waterfall, bad news, he gets separated from his family only to be acquainted by a grumpy fish named Finn. Together, whether they like it or not, they would be on the adventure of a lifetime.
Tropes:
- Advancing Boss of Doom: The minute the Turtle Giant wakes up, it chases after Finn and Furple through the canyon, and shooting it with a cannon is the only way to get him off your tail.
- Another example is the wolf, who will chase you when you get back to the mountain.
- Amphibian Assault: The Frog king is a giant frog, who wasn’t very fond of Flurple and Finn coming into his home and waking him up.
- Collapsing Lair: After Furple accidentally presses the Self-destruct button, it causes the whole temple to collapse, leaving Furple
- Fire-Forged Friends: At first, Finn wanted nothing to do with Furple once he got his blade of grass back, but after their escape from the frog temple, he and Furple became partners in their quest to get Furple back home.
- The Homeward Journey: Furple got separated from his family after an encounter with the wolf, and with the help from his new friend, Finn, he’s gonna find his way back home.
- Hub Level: The Beaver Resort/HUB is a place where Furple and Finn can go back to previous levels, buy skins, and try out time trials.
- Interspecies Friendship: Furple, a curious and enthusiastic cat and Finn, an independent fish become friends during their adventure across the river.
- A Lizard Named "Liz": Furple's sidekick is a fish named Finn.
- Oral Fixation: Finn often has a blade of grass in his mouth, emphasizing his independent nature.
- Piranha Problem: The Piranha prince and his comrades are not the friendliest fish in the river, as the prince takes Finn's blade of grass.
- Predators Are Mean: The wolf of the mountain isn’t the friendliest of the animals, as he intends to eat Furple's family when he gets away.
- Road Trip Plot: By which we mean river trip, as Furple and Finn's journey is in the river for two reasons: A, Finn is a fish, and fish can’t really swim on land (obviously), and B, the way back to the mountain is following the river back.
- Savage Wolves: The main antagonist is a white wolf with red eyes and lives on top of the mountain where Furple lives. He intends to eat Furple and his family.
- Super Drowning Skills: Due to being a cat, Furple can’t swim, and will drown if he’s in the water for too long. Inverted with Finn, where he'll suffocate if he's on dry land for too long.
- Weird Currency: Radishes are the beaver’s favorite food, and will trade anything for them.
