One Dog Story is a Metroidvania Action Game by Big Way Games.
A dog has woken up in a huge underground facility with no memory of who he is or how he got there. He isn't the only person in their, though. A whole host of colourful characters are down there also, and will gladly help you regain your memories. Unfortunately there's also a whole bunch of monsters down there that will attack you on site.
Luckily, there's also plenty of weapons down there that the dog somehow knows how to use. So get ready to help this dog blast his way through rooms full of monsters and bosses, and expect to solve puzzles while you're at it.
The game was released on Steam for PC on April 28th, 2017.
One Dog Story contains examples of:
- Apocalyptic Log: The game has diaries and computer logs chronicling the goings on at the facility.
- Batter Up!: The first weapon you can get is a baseball bat.
- Beast Man: The dog somehow went from being a regular old dog to an anthropomorphic one.
- Big Creepy-Crawlies: This game is FULL of bugs as big as the Player Character.
- Elaborate Underground Base: The setting of the game, naturally.
- Giant Spider: Since there's Big Creepy-Crawlies already, why not throw in spiders as big as the Player Character too?
- Rodents of Unusual Size: One of the enemy types you face is rats as big as people when they stand on their hind legs.
- Save Point: These are vending machine-looking things called "Save Zones". Saving your game costs 3 mutagens.
- Spread Shot: One of the weapons is a gun that fires three shots in a spread pattern.
- You Are Number 6: At one point, a scientist asks the dog what his name is. He answers that it's 20-43, since that was written on the stasis pod he was in.
