Nyakori's Rabbit Doll is an Explorer Horror game in RPG Maker. You play as Nyarutoru, a white-haired Cat Girl who lives in a little cottage in the forest with her sister, the titular Nyakori. The two of them have little rabbit dolls that they treasure. But one day, Kori's rabbit doll is stolen, so she and Toru track it down to a mansion inside the forest and fetch it from inside. But the mansion is host to all kinds of dangers, and as Toru ventures throughout its traps, she encounters memories of its inhabitants, the sisters Yuri and Yoru, and begins to discover the truth behind what seems to be a simple rabbit doll.

The main story is followed up by a DLC, Nyakori After Story, taking place immediately after the true end of the main story, in which the sisters, having found the rabbit doll, have to find their way out of the mansion, while discovering there is even more they don't know.

This game contains examples of:

  • Big Bad: The thief who took Nyakori's titular rabbit doll hides within the mansion, and Nyarutoru and Nyakori want to get it back. Until it turns out Yuri, the thief, was actually trying to save Toru from the real villains- Nyakori, a wicked tailor who murdered her sister Yoru and wants Nyarutoru all to herself, and the Bears, who want revenge on Nyakori for stealing eyes from one of them and want to kill Toru as well.
  • Dual-World Gameplay: About halfway through the main game, you gain control of Nyakori and the ability to switch between the two of them. Doing so will have each of them in their own plane of reality where doing things in one can affect things in another. The DLC adds in an extra plane and allows Yuri to switch through three of them at will, but Nyarutoru cannot, and so they need to work together to solve puzzles.
  • Haunted House: The game takes place in a strange mansion where Killer Teddy Bears and other monsters roam the halls.
  • MacGuffin Title: Nyakori's Rabbit Doll is what Nyarutoru and Nyakori are trying to find inside the haunted mansion after it was stolen from Nyakori.
  • Multiple Endings:
    • Bad End 1: If Nyarutoru goes to the secret room in the library, she and "Nyakori" (actually Yuri) discover a mirror with "Yuro"'s spirit (actually Nyakori), upon which Yuri pushes Toru out of the way, hoping to see her beloved sister again, but unintentionally kills her while Yuro vanishes.
    • Bad End 2: At the end of the game, "Nyakori"/Yuri kills the real Nyakori offscreen and takes a distressed Nyarutoru back home while promising to continue living together as sisters. Given later revelations in the DLC, this is ironically the happiest possible ending.
    • Normal End: "Nyakori" reveals herself as Yuri and the Black Cat as the real Nyakori. After some explanations, Yuri throws a knife at Nyakori, killing her and leaving a distressed Nyarutoru.
    • True End: The above happens except "Yoru" (actually an illusion by Nyakori) speaks with Yuri and convinces her to stop. Nyakori, rabbit doll in hand, prepares to leave the mansion with Nyarutoru, leaving Yuri to sob over her dead sister.
    • DLC Normal End: Nyakori lures and kills Yuri, then forces Nyarutoru to come back with her to their house, getting away with everything.
    • DLC Extra End: Yuri kills Nyakori and lifts the curse from the mansion... but Nyarutoru learning she was merely a sort-of clone of Yuri's sister, Yuro, causes her to cross the Despair Event Horizon and fling herself off the mansion, with Yuri too late to save her.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: The Extra End concludes with an absolutely cruel one if you play it from Yuri's perspective. After all the struggle and despair she went through following the death of her sister, she finally avenges her murder, allowing her and Nyarutoru to escape the mansion. It seems like, for once, her life is picking up again. But the truth about her being a mere clone of sorts causes Nyarutoru to fling herself off the mansion. Yuri runs after her to save her and a CG comic is shown, with Yuri desperately reaching out to save the one girl she can call a sister now... only for the final shot to show she wasn't fast enough. Nyarutoru presumably dies and Yuri is left all alone once again, and the game ends right there.
