Kritika: The White Knights, or simply Kritika, is an Android-based online Action RPG released in 2014 by GAMEVIL based on the Korean MMORPG Kritika. The gameplay uses a fast-paced Hack n' Slash battle system, not unlike Dragon Nest, where the player must plough through dungeon corridors, performing continuous attacks and skills via screen-mashing to mow down groups of enemy units, before eventually facing down the stage boss.

Set in Kirenos, the game's universe saw a great change when an alchemist named Alkee invented the Mana Cell, which allows every person to channel magic. The citizens of the land were so grateful for his accomplishments that they made him their leader. But Alkee betrayed the people's trust and reigned as a tyrant, even summoning a giant gollem to oppress those who tries to go against him, and the world is soon plunged into chaos.

The player can choose from 11 possible classes (or 8, in the English version) to begin their quest of defying Alkee and freeing the land from his rule.

The game provide examples of the following tropes:

  • Alchemy Is Magic: According to the game's backstory, magic became accessible to everyone thanks to an alchemical item called the Mana Cell.
  • All Swords Are the Same: Inverted. Although each class can only use one type of weapon (a BFS for Warrior, a dagger for Rogue, etc.), the subclasses would have different combos and wielding styles.
  • Attack Animal:
    • Mystic Wolf Guardian relies on their wolf companion (named Sirius) to fight their battles.
    • The Blood Demon can summon swarms of bats to attack the enemies.
  • Badass Boast: All characters to a certain degree, but especially the Shadow Mage, whose dialogues consist of nothing but him boasting about his skills.
(When summoned as an assist) "It's time to show off my perfect powers."
(After clearing a stage) "You have witnessed true genius."
  • Big Sister Instinct: The Rogue's backstory mentions how she's fighting to protect her younger sister from Alkee's influence.
  • Bribing Your Way to Victory: People can spend real money on gold and Karats to get better equipment and upgrades, but almost everything that can be bought with the real money could be eventually be obtained through continuous playing — only it will take a lot more time and effort to achieve it.
  • Boss-Only Level: Several play modes invoke this.
    • The Daily Dungeon features a boss-only round for the Final Boss battles from 7 different episodes.
    • The World Boss has the player fight against a single Monster Boss for 90 seconds.
    • The tower guardian battles usually only have a single monster to fight.
  • Brought Down to Badass: The Dark Valkyrie is said to have lost most of her powers due to Alkee's meddling. She's still a deadly fighter regardless.
  • Casting a Shadow: As stated in his job class, the Shadow Mage uses shadow-based magic.
  • Cat Girl: Cat acrobat, of course. They have cat ears, uses claw-based attacks, and makes a lot of meow-ing noises when fighting.
  • Common Character Classes: There are a total of 4 character groups, which are divided into several more classes.
    • Warrior: A strong and durable fighter who carries a broadsword. Covers the Berserker, Bust Breaker and Demon Blade.
    • Rogue: A speed-based class Dual Wielding a pair of short swords. Covers the Cat Acrobat, Crimson Assassin and Mystic Wolf Guardian.
    • Gun Magician: The magic-oriented class, who wields a pair of firearms to cast their magic. Covers the Shadow Mage, Freezing Blaster and Dimension Controller.
    • Scyther: The scythe-wielding nuker class. They are capable of summoning chains that gathers enemy groups together while damaging them, and cuts them down using their sickle. Covers the Dark Valkyrie and Demon Blood.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Dark Valkyries and Shadow Mages are labelled as "Rulers of Darkness" and uses dark based powers, but they're the heroes. Well, maybe. The story isn't too clear about the characters' alignments.
  • Ditto Fighter: The World Boss #4 assumes the form of whichever player was the top-ranker in the previous season.
  • Excuse Plot: Aside from one introduction video that provides a background information of the universe, and one character intro that shows the player class' backstory, the game's plot is never referenced again after the playing starts, and the story doesn't affect the gameplay in any way.
  • Fragile Speedster: The Cat Acrobat has a very high attack speed, but is somewhat lacking in defense and health.
  • Freemium Timer: Players are given an energy bar of 50 "lives", and playing one stage uses up at least 5 lives. Refilling the bar requires 10 minutes per life, although Karats can be used for an automatic refill.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: The Mage is said to be a hybrid between a human and a Cordis.
  • An Ice Person: The Freezing Blaster uses ice magic.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: The Demon Blade character uses a katana, and is generally agreed to have better skills than their Warrior counterparts.
  • Large and in Charge: Stage bosses are at least three times the size of the player's character and are much larger than any other enemy encounters. Champion enemies are slightly smaller than bosses, but are still noticeably larger than the rest of the Mooks.
  • Limit Break: The EX skill is a powerful attack which activates when the character have accumulated enough hits.
  • Living Weapon: The Shadow Mage fight using Alters — i.e. a manifestation of their magical powers that takes the form of Shadow Like creatures.
  • Loads and Loads of Loading: There's a loading period to start the game, to select characters, to begin stages and to select winning prizes after completing said stage.
  • Mage Marksman: All the mage classes use a pair of guns as their weapons.
  • Magic Knight:
    • The Demon Blade is technically a Warrior, but a lot of their skills are classified as "Magical" rather than "Physical" attacks. In fact, the class description says "Combines magic to blade and creates a splendid combat style".
    • Eclair is a magic swordsman who uses a flying blade, and her skills can summon a number of magical blades to rain on the enemies.
  • Ms. Fanservice: The Scyther is very curvaceous, wears revealing outfits, and is almost always drawn in a provocative pose.
  • Mystical White Hair: All the mage classes have white hair by default.
  • Pointy Ears: The Mage and Scyther (Yoran) have pointed ears. Their respective backstories very much imply that they aren't human.
  • Power Glows: Enhanced weapons emits light. The higher the enhancement level, the brighter they glow.
  • Sword and Gun: Eclair uses a gun and a floating sword to fight.
