Island Saga is a hybrid Eroge/RPG for Windows, released by Kamichichi and available on Steam. 500 years ago, the mysterious island of Valentine rose from the ocean in the middle of five Kingdoms' borders. The island is home to many monsters but also promises untold riches as well. Since then, numerous adventurers have gathered at the Island of Valentine to uncover the secrets of the island and claim what treasures they can find. It also tells of another legendary treasure known as the Love Rheid so legendary that no one's ever seen it or even come across any recording of it, but it is said to be the greatest treasure of them all.
The story starts at the Kingdom of Gultel, where the King and Queen instruct their son, the Prince (default name "Protag"), to go to Valentine Island and seek out the Love Rheid for them in order to "save their marriage" (in actuality, they simply want their son to get married to have an heir). To make sure of getting an heir, the King and Queen also enlist the help of Iris, Princess of Bal, to accompany him. Not only that, they also request Princess Nadia of Ruby, Princess Sophie of Seagulls, and Princess Sakura of Wakoku to join them.
The gameplay has battles being turn-based and stats are raised depending on the way you fight, also sparking new techniques in battle. The battle formation mechanic is also there. Characters can be built up in whatever way they want, be it a straight up melee fighter or a magic wielder.
The Eroge part takes place when completing certain guild missions where a potential scene happens with one of the main women. Others can happen if you happen to run into one of them in town when The Hero is by himself.
The Cast
- Protag: The Prince of Gultel sent on a mission to find the Love Rheid on Valentine Island.
- Iris: The Princess of Bal who was sent out by her father the King as a favor to the Gutel Family to accompany Protag on Valentine Island.
- Nadia: The Princess of Ruby, an accomplished belly dancer who goes to join Protag and Iris for the fun of it all and to be with Protag.
- Sophie: The Princess of Seagulls and potential water priestess who left to go adventuring to get away from the strict upbringing of her kingdom and also to reunite with Protag.
- Sakura: The Princess of Wakoku and Ninja wanting to break out of her kingdom's closed country policies to explore the world.
The game offers instances of:
- Action Girlfriend: Iris, Nadia, Sophie, and Sakura.
- Balanced Harem: The girls all get equal focus, though they plan not to hold anything back when it comes to claiming Protag.
- Bare-Fisted Monk: The characters can be brought up to be martial arts fighters, which can potentially be the most damaging moves.
- Battle Bikini: Nadia and Sophie are the prime instigators. Nadia even moreso as she's practically a Walking Swimsuit Scene who is also barefoot.
- Battle Harem: Iris, Nadia, Sophie, and Sakura are all potential love interests for Protag who kick ass alongside him.
- Battle in the Center of the Mind: One quest has the party dive into the dream of a little girl in danger of dying due to her sadness of losing her pet dog.
- Buxom Beauty Standard: All the ladies are ridiculously busty, especially Sophie, and portrayed as irresistible due to it. Nadia even comments that Sophie's tits are "so big they have their own gravitational pull". Even though Nadia's breasts are really big themselves, she wants to get bigger like Sophie's. Sakura also expressed jealousy over Sophie's knockers that she gropes her during the impromptu bathing scene.
- Damsel in Distress: In two separate scenes, Sophie and Sakura get caught by sentient vines and a slime respectively. They get sexually molested by their captors and nearly raped until Protag breaks them out.
- Elemental Powers: Magic types are broken up into six schools, and you can't learn an opposing school's magic.
- Exposed to the Elements: One of the locations is a snow-capped mountain. The more scantily-clad members, Sakura, Sophie, and especially Nadia show no discomfort in being in arctic conditions.
- Hit Points: Hit points are restored every battle.
- Hive Queen: The Ant Queen produces numerous soldier ants to attack a village and take over the island, until our heroes put a stop to it.
- Hot Teacher: Protag and the ladies can agree to be substitute teachers at a school when their main one falls ill. One boy almost lecherously compliments Sophie's huge breasts.
- Ms. Fanservice: All of Protag's female companions are different flavors of sexy.
- Lady of War: Protag's companions are all Action Girls as well as princesses.
- Level Scaling: Enemies rank up along with the characters. This, however, doesn't apply to bosses.
- Non-Standard Skill Learning: Generally the player can spark learning new skills (randomly, of course) by spamming abilities lower on the skill tree.
- Official Kiss: Protag shares one with each of his female companions once he builds his relationships with them. This is soon followed by them having sex afterward.
- Optional Sexual Encounter: The Protagonist has the opportunity to have sex with each of his female companions after certain missions are completed.
- Porn with Plot: It plays out like an RPG, but with several porn scenes. In fact, the King and Queen of Gultel are hoping Protag could score with any of his female companions, even better if with all of them.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: All the party members are royalty of their home countries and can kick serious ass.
- Stripperiffic: Nadia, Sophie, and Sakura wear very revealing outfits. Iris averts this trope.
- Violently Protective Girlfriend: One of the possible battle formations is the Prince Guard Formation, in which the four female characters are placed in front of Protag as a defensive wall with heightened strength bonuses.
- World of Buxom: Nadia, Sophie, Sakura, and Iris are all seriously stacked. There are also a few female NPCs who are also well-stacked.
