The story starts at the Kingdom of Gutel, where the King and Queen instruct their son, the Prince (default name "Protag"), to go to Valentine Island and seek out the Love Rheid for them in order to "save their marriage" (in actuality, they simply want their son to get married to have an heir). To make sure of getting an heir, the King and Queen also enlist the help of Iris, Princess of Bal, to accompany him. Not only that, they also send out Princess Nadia of Ruby, Princess Sophie of Seagulls, and Princess Sakura of Wakoku.
