Interrogation: You will be deceived is a puzzle game by Critique Gaming.

In an extremely grey-toned future, a team of police is tasked with seeking out The Liberation Front- a group of violent terrorists who have infiltrated all levels of society. You play as the detective heading up this team, assigning your coworkers to jobs and personally interrogating the suspects involved. You have a wide degree of latitude in these interrogations: will you painstakingly analyse dialogue to catch the culprit out? Will you torture citizens to get the answers you want? Will you prove yourself better than The Liberation Front...or worse?

Obviously, the game contains scenes of graphic injury and police brutality. Faint-hearted tropers may want to turn back now.

Interrogation has the following tropes:

  • Apocalypse Cult: The Liberation Front believe they can usher in a "new Flood" that kills everyone unworthy, purifies the Earth, blah blah blah. One of their front organizations is the religious charity Humanitas, which hooks in marks by acting like a more conventional church.
  • Bad Boss: The "Bad Boss" achievement is the opposite of the "Best Boss" achievement: it means having 0% Approval Rating with your agents.
  • Benevolent Boss: The "Best Boss" achievement involves maxing out your agents' approval rating.
  • Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: If the player chooses. Their boss even gives them suggestions on how to do it, which says a lot about the setting's police. But every culprit can be caught legitimately, and players can expect backlash from the public if they do otherwise (the torture itself may not be recorded, but people will notice that the tape recording has gaps). How often a player uses torture- if at all- is one of the main factors determining what ending you get.
  • Timed Mission: During later interrogations, suspects can't be held indefinitely. The purpose is to test players' morals by pressuring them to get answers. Or just give them a challenge that they can't brute-force by checking every angle of investigation.
