Harvest Moon: One World is a Farm Life Sim game released by Natsume as part of their Harvest Moon (Natsume) series.

An old picture book is the only remnant that remains of a previously better environment, where a large variety of crops grew and delicious animal produce was the norm because of the rich grass growing in the soil. Nowadays, potatoes are the only things growing wild and resources are scarce all over.

When the harvest sprite Vitae realizes that the protagonist can see her, they request their help in reviving the Harvest Goddess by collecting the six medaillons that the harvest sprites have. Vitae realizes that the other harvest sprites are all sleeping, so the protagonist must awaken them and bring the rich variety of crops back to the lands.

The game was released in March 2021 for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, September 2021 on Steam, and in October 2021 for the Xbox One.

Harvest Moon: One World contains examples of the following Tropes:

  • Character Customization: The player can customize the skintone, as well as hair- and eye-color of the protagonist when starting the game.
  • Downloadable Content: The game received four DLC packs.
    • The first pack added more options to cosmetically change the interior of the farmer's house, as well as adding another upgrade to the tools called the Harvest Goddess level.
    • The second pack added the village of Wagashi as a separate location to visit, along with adding some new wild animals, crops and their mutations, recipes, and two love interests in Shogen and Sana. This had the most gameplay addition to the game.
    • The third pack added a few more animals to buy in shops, along with a handful of wild animals to tame, including unicorns, a type of rideable animal that could easily traverse any terrain and environment.
    • The fourth pack added another round of wild animals to tame, these more focused on exotic or mythological ones like sasquashes.
  • Everyone Is Bi: The player can marry either gender of love interest, regardless of what gender they play as.
  • Gotta Catch 'Em All: Six medaillons must be collected to unlock access to the Harvest Goddess' shrine and to revive her.
  • Exposed to the Elements: Subverted, the farmer will be too hot in the desert and too cold in the icy regions, which will lower their stamina faster. They have to ingest a cold or hot dish to deal with the extreme temperature, respectively.
  • Invisible to Normals: The harvest sprites can only be seen by special people, with the fact that the farmer can being the reason why Vitae is convinced that they're the right person to task with reawakening the Harvest Goddess.
  • North Is Cold, South Is Hot: Played with. The icy region of Salmiakki is the northern most section of the map. And while the tropical Halo Halo region is the furthest south, the hottest area is the Pastilla desert that is above Halo Halo, moving it closer to the cold north.
  • Patchwork Map: The world map has an icy region to the north and a volcano just below it, with the mountains around it heading horizontally into the desert. There's a tropical area to the south-east, with grassy lands filling the rest.
  • Playable Epilogue: The storyline finishes upon awakening the Harvest Goddess, but nothing stops the player from continuing to play the game.
