Hamsterdam is a Rhythm Action Game by Muse Games.
The town of Hamsterdam is in big trouble. A vicious gang of vermin lead by a criminal chinchilla named Marlo has come to town, and are making life worse for the denizens. They're running rampant, stealing what they want, attacking who they want, making sure everyone know Hamsterdam is theirs now.
Surely there's a hero who can drive these villains of, isn't there?
Enter Pimm, a young hamster trained in the ways of Hamster-Fu by his grandfather. With nought but the shirt off his back and his training, Pimm has made it his mission to save Hamsterdam from the Marlo, and drive his Vermin Gang out of town.
The game was funded on Kickstarter on September 29th, 2018. It was released on July the 31st, 2019.
Hamsterdam contains examples of:
- Badass Adorable: Pimm is an adorably round little hamster who can slap around enemies twice as big as he is.
- Blue Is Heroic: Pimm's default outfit is a blue jacket.
- Item-Drop Mechanic: Sometimes, enemies will drop bags that Pimm can pick up.
- Life Meter: Pimm's is located in the top left corner of the screen. The life meters of Mooks are located above their heads.
- One-Word Title: Hamsterdam, of course.
- Punny Name: Hamsterdam has the same name as the Dutch city of Amsterdam, except that an "H" has been added to combine it with "Hamster".
- Shoryuken: Pimm can pull this off on the huge bunny Mooks if the QTE is done.
- Shout-Out: One of the clothing items you can put on Pimm is a yellow jacket called "Bruce Lee".
- Side View: The seed collecting levels are shown this way.
- Top-Heavy Guy: The giant rabbit enemies in the game are JACKED! Their legs, though, are much much smaller.
- Wicked Weasel: One of the enemy types you face in the game are weasels.
