Gynophobia is an abnormal fear of women.

Gynophobia is a Survival Horror Video Game. It's most notable for being the first game made by indie developer Andrii Vintsevych, who would later go on to make Witch Hunt and Skinwalker Hunt.

The game has you play as a person who has both arachnophobia and Gynophobia, the irrational fear of women. The mere sight of either one will send the poor fellow into a panic attack. So just imagine what happens when a woman shows up at his door.

The game was released on July 31st, 2015.

Gynophobia contains examples of:

  • Absurdly Spacious Sewer: The Dead Hunger game starts in a sewer.
  • Autosave: The game seems to save in-between game areas, as you're informed of this in loading screens.
  • Giant Mook: In the Dead Hunger game, in the above-ground level, you're constantly pursued by an invincible giant zombie with a fire hydrant on a pipe that it uses as a club.
  • Giant Spider: There are spiders in your nightmare that are the size of dogs.
  • Handguns: You wield one in both Dead Hunger and your nightmare.
  • Heartbeat Soundtrack: Starts playing when you see either a spider or a girl, like the one at your front door.
  • One-Word Title: Gynophobia, naturally.
  • P.O.V. Cam: You view the game through the eyes of the Player Character.
  • Spider People: The Final Boss of the game is a spider woman, which is likely meant to represent both your character's arachnophobia and gynophobia.
  • Stock Scream: There's one zombie in a cage in the nightmare that lets out a Wilhelm Scream if you kill it.
