Eldervale is a third-person Survival Horror Adventure Game developed and published by Solkitte. The game uses an over-the-shoulder perspective, similar to Resident Evil 4.

The game follows Ophelia Delaney, a woman from the town of Alder Stow. The Delaney Estate where she lived with her parents was used as The Delaney Institute, which housed children who were... different. They felt very safe in that boarding school.

One day, when Ophelia was 7, she became infected by a mysterious illness, which the doctors were unable to treat. A mysterious benefactor approached the Delaney family with the promise of a cure. All he asked for was to be headmaster of the orphanage. With no other alternative, they agreed.

Then children started disappearing. The whole town was looking for them, and the police started getting in touch with Ophelia's father, claiming he knew something. Ophelia had to leave town for a while.

It's been 10 years since then. Ophelia can't help but feel something terrible happened at the Institute, and she was part of it somehow. So, she has gone back to her family's estate to find out exactly what that was.

The game was released on October 20th, 2019.

Eldervale contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Bloody Handprint: Part of a bloody handprint can be seen on a plexiglass window in the visitor's room.
  • Health Meter: A health meter appears in the top-left corner of the screen when you open the inventory.
  • Infinite Flashlight: Ophelia finds a flashlight early in the game that never seems to need batteries.
  • Lock and Key Puzzle: This game has keys, and locked doors on which to use them.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: One enemy type Ophelia encounters in the game is a bipedal creature with four arms, the bottom two of which are smaller than the upper two.
  • Multiple Endings: There are three different endings, based on whether you choose to resist or serve the Elders and whether you saved a couple of other survivors.
  • One-Word Title: The title of the game, Eldervale, is one word long.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Even at 17, Ophelia is extremely short, being barely above half the height of a normal adult. Nonetheless, she can beat up eldritch horrors with a weather vane with the best of them.
