Get ready to put these plants on ice!
A video game tie-in to Danny Phantom, specifically Danny Phantom S 3 E 6 Urban Jungle that was released for Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS, the player takes control of Danny Phantom in a 2D Shoot 'Em Up across 6 worlds, with each world ending in a boss fight. The villainous Undergrowth emerges, taking over Amity Park by overrunning it with plant life and taking Sam Manson, forcing her to serve as his queen.

Examples

  • Adaptational Expansion: Compared to the original episode, the game has various ghosts escape from Walker's Prison, allowing the Lunch Lady Ghost and Technus to escape during the main game. The Boss Battles mode has you work to capture several other bosses to send them back to prison.
  • An Ice Person: After the Hopeless Boss Fight against Undergrowth, Danny ends up learning the Ghostly Ice power from Frostbite in order to combat Undergrowth.
  • Anti-Frustration Features:
    • The player cannot take damage during bonus stages and has unlimited use for the Fenton Capture devices, with the only condition for failure being that you run out of time.
    • During Boss Battle, the player's Standard shot and any additional shot types (Pierce, Homing and Laser) will always be at MAX level instead of having the player level them up like in the main game. However if the player dies, their current weapon loses a level, though it doesn't last for the entire Boss Rush.
  • Big Bad: Undergrowth serves as the antagonist, much like his episode of origin.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Undergrowth ends up developing one with the Lunch Lady Ghost during the end of the game.
  • Bonus Stage: The game has bonus stages after each completing a world (except the final one) where the player can capture ghosts, and also has unlimited use of the Fenton Capture devices in addition to being unable to take damage from enemy attacks.
  • Boring, but Practical: While you could try your might with the Standard, Pierce or Homing shots, the Laser is probably the most practical due to it being useful for getting rid of groups of enemies, and dealing a lot of damage to bosses.
  • Boss Battle:
    • World 1-2's boss is Lunch Lady Ghost, though she later returns in the final world.
    • World 2-2's boss is the Box Ghost.
    • World 3-2's boss is the Plant Queen followed by a Hopeless Boss Fight with Undergrowth.
    • World 4-2's boss is Youngblood's pirate ship.
    • World 5-1's boss is Technus 1.0.
    • World 5-2's boss is Technus's spider and giant forms from Danny Phantom S 1 E 12 Teacher Of The Year.
    • World 6-1's boss is the Meat Monster.
    • World 6-2's boss is Meat 'n' Potatoes, followed by Undergrowth, the Lunch Lady Ghost and a second fight with Undergrowth.
  • Boss Remix: Technus's second boss theme is a remix of his stage theme. The Boss Battle theme during the Boss Rush is a full version of that modes menu screen.
  • Boss Rush: Once the player beats the game, they unlock Boss Battle, where they can fight against several unique bosses back to back with limited powers and 4 lives. Sadly, no such mode exists for all of the story mode bosses.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Tucker later ends up becoming the Meat Monster by the hands of the Lunch Lady Ghost and is the first boss fought during World 6. He's freed after the monster is defeated.
  • Bullet Hell: The game itself utilizes a polarity system similar to Video Game/Ikaruga, with later bosses and the entirety of the Boss Rush expecting you to make full use of the polarity system in order to absorb red or blue bullets to regain Ghost Energy.
  • Decomposite Character: Sam Manson and the Veggie Queen are separate characters in this game, with the latter being a clone of the real Sam, who is rescued far earlier than in the show.
  • Difficulty Levels: The game allows you to play either on Easy, Normal or Hard mode, and also allows the player to switch the difficulty from the Options menu.
  • Dual Boss: Desiree and Spectra are both fought as the penultimate boss during the Boss Rush. Defeating one of them causes the other to Turn Red, incentivizing you to experiment with the order you defeat both bosses.
  • 11th-Hour Superpower: Danny's final ghost power is the Ghostly Wail which hits all enemies on screen.
  • 100% Completion: Capturing every single ghost in the game and filling up the Ghost Gallery allows you to start a new playthrough with all of your powers unlocked from the start.
  • Heads I Win, Tails You Lose: If you do manage to drain all of Undergrowth's HP during your first fight with him, he ends up defeating you anyway, moving the plot along so that Danny can learn Ghostly Ice.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: Your first fight with Undergrowth ends like this, forcing Danny to gain new powers in order to defeat him.
  • Intangibility: Danny Phase allows the player to avoid taking damage and phase through walls as long the player has enough energy to maintain use of that power.
  • Laser Blade: One of Fright Knight's attacks to strike the player with a laser blade that moves across the screen.
  • Me's a Crowd: One of Vlad's powers is to create two copies of himself, allowing him to shower the screen in energy bullets.
  • Misbegotten Multiplayer Mode: The DS version adds in Multi-Card Play which allowed two players with a copy of the game. Even with this restriction aside, the multiplayer mode is limited to the Boss Battles mode.
  • Multiple Endings: You get the same ending for beating the game, regardless if how much of the Ghost Gallery you completed. However the Boss Battles mode has its own unique ending for completing it, which ends with Danny helping Walker regain his escaped prisoners.
  • Multiple Life Bars: Weaker bosses will have around 2 HP bars (yellow then red) whereas stronger bosses may have around 4 or 3 lifebars (purple (GBA)/blue (DS), green, yellow and red).
  • Musical Assassin: Ember's attacks are all related to her music powers.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: The second boss fought in Boss Battle is Dora the Dragon Ghost, or just Dragon according to the Ghost Gallery.
  • Playing with Fire: Danny's Ghostly Fire allows you to burn enemies.
  • Sequential Boss: Technus is fought during World 5-2 in his spider form followed by his giant form. The final boss also has 4 phases, being the longest fight in the entire game.
  • Sound Test: An unlockable feature after you beat the game. It also has its own unique theme, though unfortunately, none of the tracks are named.
  • Superboss: The Boss Rush has you fight Ember, Dora the Dragon Ghost, Skulker, Fright Knight, Desiree & Ember and Vlad Plasimus in that order. However if you haven't captured enough ghost types, the game will cut your Boss Battle run short, preventing you from fighting the last few bosses.
  • 2½D: The Nintendo DS version of the game changes all of the backgrounds in the cutscenes and the levels to be 3D models. Interestingly enough, all of World 4 consists of 3D assets despite the player, enemies and bosses being 2-D in every other level in the game.
  • Unexpected Gameplay Change: World 4 has you fly through the Ghost Zone with the Fenton Flyer, turning the game into a Rail Shooter.
