Ciao Bella: la bella romanza is a Life Simulation Game.

You play as Elena, a girl living in Little Italy, Montreal. Each level follows a week in her life, where you must solve family problems and keep you stats up for your weekly date with her love interest, Elio. Will you be able to impress him enough that he'll want to marry you?

Ciao Bella provides examples of:

  • Birthday Episode: The T Mobile episode focuses on planning for Elio's birthday.
  • Deus ex Machina: Elena can pray at the church for divine intervention to gain perks. This comes in handy during week four when Nunzio asks Elena to meet up with an important client at the same time as her date night with Elio. If Elena had the church repaired well enough, the big guy will make the client reschedule the meeting for the day before.
  • Everyone Laughs Ending: Date eleven ends like this.
  • From Bad to Worse: This describes the problems in week eleven. Thanks to Nunzio's insensitive comment, his workers are on strike which means they won't finish Ernie and Carmine's new house, so Elena's parents aren't coming back with the newlyweds still there. What's worse, Elena promised she'd hire a private chef for their weekly date night. And since Elena can't work with the strike going on, Carmine (who is established last week as a horrible chef) plans to cook since she thinks Elena can't afford one in time.
  • Imagine Spot: Elena has a habit of imagining things on her dates with Elio.
  • Irony: Elena is noted to be more stressed out after Carmine's wedding in week nine when you're usually stressed during a wedding.
  • I Want Grandkids: Teresa's main motivation for setting up Elena and Elio is because she wants grand kids.
  • Lethal Chef: Carmine's cooking skills are awful to the point where Elena trying one of her meals make her lose stats.
  • Picnic Episode: Week five's date has Elio planning a picnic with Elena, except Elena has a case of hay fever, in the middle of allergy season. She has to make sure she packs enough medicine for the date.
  • Product Placement: There are two flash games that promote the Madza CX-5 and T-Mobile XL Sidekick.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: While the judge is regularly annoyed by the antics Elena's family causes, he does understand some situations they are in and willing to fix it.
  • Sick Episode: Carmine and Sofia are sick during week three, and Elena has to make daily visits to them while keeping up her health so she doesn't get sick herself.
  • Strike Episode: Week eleven focuses on a strike at Nunzio Constructions.
  • Wedding Episode: Part of Elena's family situations she needs to deal with are stuff relating to her sister's wedding, with it occurring on week eight.
  • What Does She See in Him?: Ernie is not the brightest tool in the shed when it comes to romance so it make you wonder why Carmine chose to marry him. Case in point: the reason Carmine called off the wedding for week one is because he thought a golden wrench would be a romantic gift. And he still doesn't get it when Elena presents a make up gift for him.
