Bot Gaiden is an Action Platform Game by SwordSwipe Studios.
A mysterious villain named Giorquo has managed to acquire six golden skulls, all of which are being used to power up his robotic minions. If they're successful, then Giorquo will be unstoppable.
However, there is a chance to stop him. Two robotic ninja, the blue ninja bot Robyu, and the red ninja bot Bytron, have just been activated. Their mission is to intercept Giorquo's robot generals and stop them from absorbing all the energy from the golden skulls. To get to them, they'll need to run, jump, and battle their way through hordes of robots to get to them while they're still absorbing energy. They can still fight them if the generals are at full power, it'll just be a lot harder.
The game was released on April 21st, 2022.
Bot Gaiden contains examples of:
- Big Bad: Giorquo.
- Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: One of the bosses, Yetibot, is a giant robotic yeti.
- Blue Is Heroic: Robyu is a blue ninja bot trying to stop Giorquo's plans.
- Boss Battle: There's one at the end of each level.
- Brain in a Jar: Ratbot has one on top of his head.
- Defeat Equals Explosion: Well, all the enemies ARE robots.
- The Great Serpent: One of the bosses, Cobrabot, is a giant robotic cobra.
- Life Meter: The ninja bot's is located in the top-left corner of the screen, and the boss' is located in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Mecha-Mooks: Naturally, the enemies in the game are robots.
- Red Is Heroic: Bytron is a red ninja bot trying to stop Giorquo's plans.
- Side View: How the game is viewed.
- Threatening Shark: One of the enemy types you face in the game is robot shark that swim in slots in the ground.
- Written Sound Effect: Every time you defeat an enemy, the explosion is accompanied by a sound-effect word, like "TONK" or "KABOM" or GWIFT".
- You Dirty Rat!: One of the bosses, Ratbot, is a giant robotic rat.
