Arcane, subtitled in game as ''Arcane: The armor collector", is an Adobe Flash game, first released on June 9th, 2008. It covers the story of Arcane, the proud son of a poor blacksmith, who is taken to be trained as a gladiator at a young age. Unlike normal gladiator games, however, these games are aided by magical suits of armor that allow the wearer to infinitely resurrect.

The gameplay of the story mode is simple: get enough "kills" for your team and win the match. There is a set amount of room you can move about in, with each stage having different platforms and sizes. Arcane can switch between armors and weapons midmatch, while the rest can only switch weapons.

Has no relation with the animated series of the same name, which is based on a completely different video game (League of Legends).

My father inspired me to use these tropes:

  • Beware the Silly Ones: The last know surviving lord, the ones who created the armors, appears to be the one in charge of coloring and dying the suits. When you see him he has mismatched eyes and is shown to paint quite a bit. His mid-boss battle is quite difficult despite being a simple 1v1 He's also the final boss and clearly knows how to use the weapons he's holding, having the strongest bow, sword, and armor in the game.]
  • Boring, but Practical / Difficult, but Awesome: The bow, depending on the situation. With good aim it's easy to get headshots, which do massive damage if they don't outright kill, and they are depending ranged weapon. It is, in fact, quite possible to beat the story mode using only bows. However, once an enemy is close you have to act quickly. If done right you can headshot an enemy from just in front of their shield, netting you an instant kill in most cases, but if you don't get that one and don't have armor faster than your target then you won't get another chance. Another difficulty is that melee enemies are always equipt with sheilds, and those can easily block an arrow aimed at a vital area.
  • Disc-One Nuke: Bows tend to be expensive, but if you're willing to grind for the money you can buy them when they become avilible and are generally more powerful than what you'll get for a few matches.
  • Equipment-Based Progression: All your power comes from your suit and weapon. It doesn't matter if you get a headshot, if you're using a bow that's too weak you can fill an enemy's head with arrows and they will still be walking around. Generally, enemies will either have equal or one tier above your buyable weapons and armor.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: The bots have quite lethal aiming with a bow, allowing them to turn and headshot you the second you respawn if you're unlucky enough to be near them when they have the bow equipped, among other annoying feats such as constant headshots. They also seem to have a timer before they can fire again that keeps this from getting out of hand, but that timer gets lower the further in the story you get.
  • Infinity -1 Sword: The king's armor is this for sure. It has the ''highest' defense in the game, however it also has "Very Slow" speed, meaning your walking speed is heavily impaired while wearing it.
  • Infinity +1 Sword: The katana, a large elaborate bow, and the black knight vest are the strongest items in the whole game, only unlocked after being the final boss. The black night vest has slightly less defense than the king's armor, but its speed, in contract, is "very fast" allowing you to dodge more easily. The katana and bow have the highest attack in the game as well as 100% hit rates, meaning that if the attack lands on the enemy it will never be a miss.
  • Oh, Crap!: When Arcane has beaten every other challenge he then asks the last living lord, now on vacation, how to be considered a lord himself. The lord says it's best that Arcane fight him right there, causing Arcane to think "oh bloody hell".
  • One-Word Title: The alternative title is Arcane, named after the character you play as, which also makes it a Protagonist Title.
  • Protagonist Title: You play as a character named Arcane, which is also the title of the game, so it's also an example of One-Word Title.
