Abducted Toad is a fangame created by MFGG user Friendly Dictator. This game stars the mushroom underdog Toad.

The story of the game goes like this: Toad was walking one night when all of a sudden, he was captured. When he comes to, he sees that his mushroom cap has an alien named Cappy on it. Fortunately for him, he is a friendly alien who seeks Toad's help in saving his planet from the evil King Purplius CVIII. With the powers that Cappy bestowed on him, Toad must trek through different areas on the planet and face Purplius and his army. There seems to be some things in the story that are more than meets the eye...

The game can be found on MFGG here.

This game provides examples of:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: The info disc for the Thweedle says this:
These pie-shaped people have painful pointy prickles protruding from their pores. Hooray for alliteration!
  • Alien Abduction: It's right there in the title.
  • Amazing Technicolor Battlefield: The Black Hole Area, where you fight the Singularity Core and the Purplius Core.
  • Battle Aura: One of Toad's main methods of attacking, courtesy of the alien on his head.
  • Big Bad: King Purplius CVII is the tyrannical leader of the Purplians that Toad and Cappy want to overthrow in order to stop his plan to destroy the Mushroom people.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: King Purplius does this to several beings from the Mushroom World to fight against Toad. This includes Mario and Bowser.
  • Creator Cameo: In the Fangames Galaxy Area. He gives you hints for info disc locations.
  • Hailfire Peaks: Hot Cold Area, where the clocks in the level turn the hot, lava-filled environment into a cool place with water you can swim in for a limited amount of time.
  • Lethal Lava Land: The Bubble Volcano Area, the Lava Mine Area, and the Hot Cold Area (some of the time)
  • Level in the Clouds: The Cloudy Treetop Area and the Cloud Waterfall Area.
  • Macro Zone: Colossal Summit Area not only has giant enemies that can take more hits, but also giant items like switches and 1-up crystals.
  • Marathon Level: The Tower of Trials Area. 25 floors of difficult platforming, with checkpoints every five floors. To a lesser extent, the Space Station Area.
  • Minus World:
    • The Glitch Data Area level is an intentional example that introduces an enemy called the Glitchler, which has the ability to transform into a different enemy every second or two.
    • The last rooms of the Virtual Reality Area, where the simulation is falling apart.
  • Nightmare Face: An in-universe case with the Frenzy enemy.
  • Monster Compendium: There are a different number of Info Discs scattered in each level. Most of them have info on the enemies and bosses in the game while others have NPCs.
  • Nostalgia Level: The Virtual Reality Area contains a remake of World 1-1 from the original Super Mario Bros and the first room of Super Mario Bros. 2. It also has a room based on Mega Man 2 and a remake of the first area from the fangame Late Night Mario.
  • Portal to the Past: The Ancient Airship Area, where Toad and Cappy enter through a pipe and land in the middle of a war between the Purplians and the Mushroom people.
  • The Reveal: King Purplius has a grudge against the Mushroom Kingdom because of an ancient, long-forgotten war between the planets which took the throne from his ancestor.
  • Rise to the Challenge:
    • There's a room in the Bubble Volcano Area where you have to climb the bubbles while the lava rises beneath you.
    • The rising lava reappears in the Hot Cold Area, where once you get to the top of the room, you turn the lava into water and climb back down.
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World: Combined with Eternal Engine in the Frozen Factory Area and with Ship Level in the Icy Ship Area
  • True Final Boss: The Ancient Airstrip Area, the final area of the bonus world, houses Queen Rodakino IV and her Mechashroom.
