Tropes A - J (Bait and Switch | Cuteness Proximity | Didn't Think This Through) | Tropes K - Z (Shout-Out | Troll | You Are Better Than You Think You Are)
Every occasion in MoringMark's TOH Comics where someone acts like a Troll.
- The Titan finds Philip's constant near-deaths funny, and is all but said to be behind them.
- On the other hand, Belos would later blatantly mistranslate the Titan's commands into his own agenda of killing off all wild witches and establishing a fascist rule over the Boiling Isles.
- Raine, noticing Terra's tea is a bit too hot, volunteers to cool it. However, they also take the opportunity to make it taste like cat urine with their whistling trick.
- Eda puts a "Hex Me!" note on Lilith's back while hugging her.
- Lilith, on the other hand, teams up with Hooty to mess with Eda, along with Luz and King, by tricking them into thinking that she can keep Hooty from getting dirty after being cleaned.
- Once, Luz sneaks into the Emperor's castle and leaves a speaker powered by a potion in the vents to play Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" on loop. One day later, the entire Emperor's Coven is begging for it to stop.
- While the Emperor's Coven surrounds the Owl House, it seems like Eda brutally killed Steve as soon as he broke in... only to reveal that she just stuck a fire glyph to a prop skeleton wearing Steve's cloak and threw it out to frighten the rest of the Emperor's Coven scouts while Lilith prepared a teleportation glyph. Even Steve laughs at the trick once he is shown to be completely unharmed.
- The Blight kids, including Amity, are all this.
- In one strip, Amity teams up with Edric to pull a prank on Emira, only to shift all of the blame on him when it's pulled off.
- In another, Edric pulls out a dagger when Odalia is dying from her Oracle sigil on the Day of Unity, making her think the only way to save her is to cut her arm off, when in reality Amity just uses a branding glove to take it off.
- Here, as Amity reunites with Alador, a sulking Odalia spots the twins approaching. As they approach, Emira performs a perfect 90-degree turn so they head for Amity and Alador, sharing a fist bump with Edric as Odalia looks insulted.
- Boscha tries to get away from Lumity. Unfortunately for her, they are actively following her to garner her annoyed reaction from their affectionate nature.
- During an aerial battle, Eda takes an arrow to her back to protect Raine and pretends to die to get Raine to confess their love for her. When Raine sees the arrow got lodged in Eda's ponytail, they're not happy and Luz and Lilith leave Eda to her punishment.Raine: (slaps Eda with each word) I. Thought. You. Were. Dead!
Eda: Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. I'm sorry, okay? Stop it- OUCH! - Hunter has a habit of being the target of Luz's pranks in Mark's comics, going through getting googly eyes stuck on his mask by her while he's on patrol, forced to eat his booger by her dare during truth-or-dare, and getting his staff stolen by her and Gus at one point. Ones set post Hunter's Heel–Face Turn serve to feed into their Like Brother and Sister dynamic more than anything.
- In a comic set after Belos' defeat, Luz states that it's been 3 months since she's been gone and tells Hunter that he has to let her go, before disappearing in front of his eyes. Hunter stares in shock, reaches out where Luz was, and pinches the chuckling Luz's cheek, who simply used an invisibility glyph to trick Hunter.Hunter: (livid and chasing a laughing Luz) I thought I was crazy for a second!
- Luz and Gus dupe him into thinking he was he was playing against one of them in a video game for 2 hours when in reality, his controller wasn't even plugged in.
- After Hunter's attempt to segue a fact about wolves into flirting has Willow outflirt him and ends with him flustered, Gus, Luz, and Amity arrive and treat the scene like a nature tour.Gus: On the right side, folks, you can see two wolves in their natural habitat.
Amity and Luz: Ooooo-
Gus: It seems the male wolf is very awkward at courting.
Amity: (snaps a photo) Aww.
Hunter: YOU GUYS ARE NOT HELPING!! - Tired of Gus tricking him with illusions of Willow, Hunter learns from Amity that one can identify illusions by scent. It's only after he smells the real Willow that Hunter figures out Amity was messing with him too, and he chases after her and Gus since they were watching the whole exchange.
- When Hunter reveals to Luz that his hair grows longer with exposure to sunlight, Luz does not hesitate to use this to her mischievous advantage.
- Hunter does get to invoke this himself;
- He once ordered everyone except for Kikimora to duck after a scout triggers a trap in a ruin they're exploring. The traps just barely miss Kikimora as they only reach down to her exact height.
- He later finally gets to mess with Luz for a change; when he asks her for a ride to Darius' house, he breaks all of her passenger rules for the sake of annoying her after she says she won't turn around if it means getting to see Amity, who's stopping by with Alador.
- In one comic, the two of them double team to trick Masha into thinking a certain series of bizarre motions are a way of greeting in the Boiling Isles. When they realize they've been fooled, they take it in stride.
- In a comic set after Belos' defeat, Luz states that it's been 3 months since she's been gone and tells Hunter that he has to let her go, before disappearing in front of his eyes. Hunter stares in shock, reaches out where Luz was, and pinches the chuckling Luz's cheek, who simply used an invisibility glyph to trick Hunter.
- Gus tells Amity that slowly blinking while gazing at someone is a sign of affection and trust. He doesn't mention he read this in a book on cat behaviour. Luz reacts with confusion while Gus barely contains his laughter.

- After giving Eda a new prosthetic arm, Alador doesn't charge her any money for his service. Of course, while testing out said arm's features, Eda learns that the "bad gesture filter" Alador installed prevents Eda from using it to flip people off, and Alador charges her 50,000 snails to get it unlocked.
- When Boscha decides to visit the Human Realm (if only to see why anyone would visit a realm of savages), Amity dupes her into wearing a gaudy outfit including large sunglasses, a hot dog purse, and a tie hanging off her arm. Luz and Willow can barely hold in their laughter as she remains oblivious.
- When discussing the hive mind link between Ori and the Jean-Lucs, Amity warns Ayzee not to treat Ori badly or the entire army she built will attack her. Ayzee is understandably horrified only for Amity to admit she's messing with her, as the Jean-Lucs are loyal to Titans' allies.
- When Ayzee introduces her friends to Eda, Jay isn't impressed since it seems the legendary Owl Lady is now far past her prime. It makes Ayzee doubt how cool her Mama Eda is, until she sees her participating in an underground fight and pieces together that Eda was messing with her.
- In one strip, Luz brings home a guinea pig she's helping take care of, with Stringbean giving it a leer when her back is turn. Luz admits to the palisman that was a good one.
