• The Other Darrin: The Shonen Sunday pilot film was for the most part not to different from the final product and had most of the same staff working on it and had Minami Takayama (Yaiba), Kotono Mitsuishi (Sayaka), Ryō Horikawa (Onimaru) and Hirohiko Kakegawa (Batman ^note  who would be renamed "Batguy" in the TV series for obvious reasons ) voicing their respective roles which carried over to the TV series, however the music was different ^note  the music for this pilot was composed by Ryuichi Katsumata (better known for his contributions to Initial D and various video games) rather than Kouhei Tanaka and there were two very noticable differences in the voice cast:
  • Musashi was voiced in this pilot by the late Reizo Nomoto, but the role was later given to Masaharu Satou in the TV series.
  • Kumo Otoko (Spiderman) was voiced by Yukimasa Kishino in this pilot, but the role was later given to Tetsuo Sakaguchi in the TV series.
    • In the crossover OVA with Case Closed, Raizou is voiced by Tesshō Genda rather than the late Unshō Ishizuka who voiced him in the TV series.
    • While Ryo Horikawa reprised his role as Onimaru in that same OVA, when Onimaru made a guest appearance in episode 917 of Conan he was voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda instead, likely due to Horikawa already voicing Heiji ^note  And admittedly aside from Heiji speaking in Horikawa's native Osaka dialect there isn't that much voice differentiation between him and Onimaru .
• Those Two Actors: Minami Takayama and Ryō Horikawa were previously cast as rivals ^note (Honmaru Edojo and Tsutomu Harako repectively) in Magical Taruruto-kun and would later voice Conan Edogawa and Heiji Hattori in Case Closed.
