The TV series in general
- Follow the Leader: WMT has spawned a lot of anime based on Western literature, notably Huckleberry Finn Monogatari, Takarajima, The Story of Cinderella, Himitsu no Hanazono, and Kaiketsu Zorro, and Toei's suspiciously similarly titled "Sekai Meisaku Dowa" films, which includes Twelve Months.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: The franchise is available in DVD. The bad news is that it doesn't contain any English dubs or subs and the series has yet to be released on DVD overseas.
- No Export for You: Most of the entries were not released in the US, and even then, the closest the U.S. got to getting the Heidi anime was an edited compilation film released as "The Story of Heidi".note If you lived in or near Mexico in the late 1970s, chances are you might have seen the Latin-American Spanish dub of all 52 episodes of that series.note
- Meiken Lassie was released in 1996 and it is the only entry that isn't available outside Japan.
- Nanatsu no Umi no Tico did see a legal release in North America on Oznoz as Tico and Friends.
