• Creator's Favorite: Eiko Yamada, one of the show's voice actresses in Japanese dub has stated on her social media accounts that Lucien is her favorite among the characters she dubbed in World Masterpiece Theater series.
• Cross-Dressing Voices: In Japanese dub, Lucien, Dani and Jean were voiced by women (Eiko Yamada, Sanae Miyuki and Aoki Kazuyo)
• What Could Have Been: The first character design illustrations released in some early magazines and merchandise showed some characters with different appearance and color schemes:
  • Dani was originally going to have brown hair and wears yellow shirt and brown pants instead of blonde hair, pink shirt and green jumper.
  • Lucien was supposed to be wearing blue vest and green shirt instead of dark green vest and light red shirt like he eventually dons in the show.
  • Grand-aunt Claude Martha was originally to be a stout old woman who has light brown hair and wears light purple dress but her weight was decreased, her hair turned grey and her dress color is changed like in the show.
  • Monsieur Peguin was originally meant to be a middle-aged man with short brown hair instead of being an old man with long grey hair.
  • Dr. Givet was supposed to look younger without a mustasche compare to his counterpart in the show.
