Trivia / Wasteful Days of High School Girls

• Acting for Two: Played for laughs when all of the named pigs in Episode 12 of the anime are voiced by the same actors as their namesakes, making "pig" noises. The only main character whose actor doesn't do this is Baka, as she didn't name any pig after herself for obvious reasons.
• Creator's Favorite: Yamai, apparently. Her face is currently used as Bino's avatar on Twitter, and she seems to retweet more fanart of Yamai than that of anyone else, not even Ota, her own Author Avatar.
• Dawson Casting: Pretty much the entirety of the live-action cast. The youngest of the bunch is Mei Hata, who plays Loli in the serial, and she is 18.
• Defictionalization: Teishotoku-P, the Vocaloid producer that Ota usually listens to, is a "real"^note "Real" as in "Teishotoku-P" is an ARG-like account made by Bino, and featuring songs from other producers that the author commissioned account with his own YouTube channel. This is the music video that Ota watched in episode 8.
• Playing Against Type:
  • Aki Toyosaki is known for playing ditzy, silly, but otherwise cheerful and kind-hearted girls, typically with a noticeable Kansai accent (think Yui Hirasawa). So it comes as a surprise when she is cast as the stoic, deadpan and no-nonsense Robo. The voice she's normally known for could be heard in the "Do It Yourself" Theme Tune ending song, though, which doesn't sound like Robo in the least.
  • Rie Takahashi is known for playing coy and playful comedic characters (like Takagi from Teasing Master Takagi-san and Megumin from KonoSuba). Here, she's playing Majime, a serious, tomboyish and literal-minded girl.
• Series Hiatus: At least twice now, with the first major one taking place just after Chapter 44 was released. A second one started in early November 2019, with the manga languishing around Chapter 83; this was likely due to Bino being caught up with production of the live-action TV series, since her other manga, Uchuu Toka to Kurabetara Chippoke na Mondai desu ga, is also on its own long-term hiatus with no end in sight. This becomes reasonable when the live-action adaptation is twice as long as the anime, and requires quite a bit of Adaptation Expansion. As of early March 2020, the manga has started receiving new chapter updates again.
• Write Who You Know: According to Word of God, the characters of Ota and Waseda are based mostly upon Bino and her husband.

• Chapter 44 provides the "Interesting Woman" skit of the first episode. This is also the chapter before the manga entered a long hiatus.
