• Actor Allusion: Sir Ian McKellen really did play a villain on Doctor Who years before he did this series, like Freddie.
• Completely Different Title: In Denmark and Norway, the series was titled To skarpe tunger ("Two Sharp Tongues").
• Dawson Casting: In episode five, Chloe says that Ash is 22. Iwan Rheon was 28 at the time.
  Freddie: I thought he was 35.
• I Take Offense to That Last One: When Sir Ian McKellen first received the script for the pilot, it was originally titled Vicious Old Queens. His response? "I'm not old!"
• Playing Against Type: Iwan Rheon's most famous role is the calculating and downright evil Ramsay Bolton of Game of Thrones, making the sweet, cheerful, and slightly naive Ash a towering contrast. When asked about it, he said it's refreshing to play someone nice for a change. Coincidentally, the series finale aired in America shortly before Ramsay's death aired, a fact not lost on him.
