• Acting for Two: In the English dub, Emily Neves voices Sumako Aotsuki and Jun Moritsuna, while David Wald voices Hyou and Kuin.
• All-Star Cast:
  • In the 1992 OVA, we got Nozomu Sasaki, Chikao Ohtsuka, Yuri Amano, Yumi Touma, Norio Wakamoto, Kazuki Yao, Takeshi Aono, Hiromi Tsuru, Sho Hayami and Wakana Yamazaki.
  • In the TV series, we got Tasuku Hatanaka, Rikiya Koyama, Mikako Komatsu, Kiyono Yasuno, Keiji Fujiwara, Yui Makino, Daisuke Namikawa, Shin-ichiro Miki, Yūki Kaji, Risa Shimizu, Fumiko Orikasa, Ai Kayano, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Ryōta Ōsaka, Ayahi Takagaki, Mamoru Miyano, Kana Hanazawa, Maaya Sakamoto, Megumi Han, Katsuyuki Konishi, Nana Mizuki, Megumi Hayashibara, Toshio Furukawa, Yuji Ueda, Mayumi Tanaka and Jun'ichi Suwabe.
• Creator Couple: The 2015 dub has Umizato and Kagari being voiced by acting couple Philip Hays and Patricia Duran.
• The Other Darrin: No one in the Japanese version reprises their roles from the OVA. Noticeably in the dub, a majority of the characters that appeared in the OVA are recast as many of the actors have not done voice acting in recent years.
  • Ushio goes from being voiced by Randy Sparks to David Matranga, as the former passed away long before the dub started.
  • Mayuko goes from being voiced by Mandy Clark to Luci Christian.
  • Hyou is now voiced by David Wald instead of Ed Paez.
  • Raishin is initially voiced by Andy McAvin, but in the 2015 series is done by Jay Hickman.
  • Kagari goes from being voiced by Monica Rial to Patricia Duran.^note In this case, it could be presumed Rial was unavailable.
  • Juuro is voiced by John Gremillion instead of Illich Guardiola for VERY good reasons.^note Gremillion also voices Ayakashi over John Swasey, though the latter returns as Shigure.
  • Umizato goes from being voiced by Ted Pfister to Philip Hays.
  • Tatsuya goes from being voiced by Cameron Bautsch to Greg Ayres.
• Out of Order: Due to the Adaptation Distillation the anime suffered, Guren makes his first, unexplained appearence attacking the Sky Mansion of the Western Youkai, then he attacks Ushio at his home when he's there with Hyo and Tora.
• Role Reprise: The 2015 anime’s dub brings back Brett Weaver as Tora, Allison Sumrall as Asako, and John Swasey as Shigure.
