Trivia / Ultraman: The Ultimate Hero

Go To

  • Real-Life Relative: Sho Kosugi voices Ultraman while his son Kane Kosugi plays Ultraman's human host.
  • Recursive Import: Produced in USA but aired on Japanese TV as Ultraman Powered (which is also the Japanese name for the show's hero, in order to differentiate him from the original Ultraman)
  • Recycled Script: Most of the series' episodes are pretty much remakes of those in the original Japanese series. At least, the Japanese writers for the 1966 version are given credit.
  • Troubled Production: Detailed here. The end result of this situation was that Tsuburaya Productions ended up losing a lot of money and was forced to cancel several planned projects, including a second season of fellow Western Ultraman show Ultraman: Towards the Future, and a follow-up show to Denkō Chōjin Gridman that would have been substantially different from and released much earlier than the eventual follow-up SSSS.GRIDMAN.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Magular was supposed to appear in episode 3 alongside Red King, Pigmon, and Chandler to complete the cast of creatures that appeared in episode 8 of Ultraman, but was replaced with a second Red King in the end.
    • "Powered" figures of several monsters that appeared in Ultraman, but not in this series, were released, suggesting the intention to adapt more of the original Ultraman's foes. Here's one for Gavadon's two forms.
