  • Defictionalization: After the album was released, the gift shop located next to The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota began selling postcards reading "Greetings from the Twine Ball, wish you were here".
  • Publisher-Chosen Title: The "Money for Nothing" parody was originally going to be named "Beverly Hillbillies" (Al would've also been fine with "Money for Nothing for the Beverly Hillbillies" or "Beverly Hillbillies for Nothing"), but Dire Straits' lawyers insisted that the original song's title be kept as-is in the title, forcing it to be the awkward "Money for Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies*" (that asterisk is supposedly included in the title as registered for copyright, but it's very often omitted even in official releases).
  • What Could Have Been: The original idea for what would have become "Money for Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies" was going to be a spoof of "Let's Go Crazy" by Prince. Sadly, the Purple One was never a fan of Al's and denied him permission. Al eventually did a sound-alike of the Prince song, "Traffic Jam," for his Alapalooza album.
