Trivia / Tucker & Dale vs. Evil

• California Doubling: Alberta for West Virginia.
• Creator Backlash: Alan Tudyk disliked the fact that there was only enough money to provide him and Tyler Labine with one set of clothes each. These got progressively dirtier and smellier throughout the production and covered in increasing amounts of red karo syrup, which would harden overnight and require everything get soaked in water to soften the fabric enough so that Tudyk and Labine could get dressed — meaning the two were damp and cold in the mornings and hot and sticky in the afternoons.
• Fake American: With the exception of Alan Tudyk (Tucker), Katrina Bowden (Allison) and Eli Craig himself (the cameraman in the Cold Open), the cast consists entirely of Canadian actors playing American characters.
• Playing Against Type: Brandon Jay McLaren is most famous for playing Red Ranger Jack Landors in Power Rangers S.P.D., who, while arrogant at first and a petty thief, eventually becomes a noble and strong leader. Here, he plays Jason, whom despite being the Only Sane Man of the group is a bumbling coward who doesn't take action until the final act where he's the last to die.
• Real-Life Relative: Eli Craig's wife is the news reporter in the opening, while he himself is the cameraman.
