Trivia / Transformers: Beast Wars (2021)

• Approval of God: David Kaye gave his wholehearted approval to the series, and even read some of Megatron's lines as part of a special Q&A live stream.
• What Could Have Been:
  • According to writer Erik Burnham, Razorbeast wasn't his first choice as the first new addition to the Maximals. He had a different character in mind: Moon, the little rabbit-bot from Beast Wars Neo. But Hasbro told him the character was off-limits and Razorbeast was swapped in instead.
  • Showing just how far Erik was willing to change things up, he briefly considered killing Dinobot for good in issue 6 before changing his mind and just have him badly injured.
  • Erik Burnham detailed in the final issue all the storylines he wanted to do but couldn't due to the comic ending prematurely. These included Rattrap gaining a dangerous glitch due to his overindulgence of fruit, Rhinox being suspected as a Predacon mole, Quickstrike being introduced and becoming Scorponok's rival, Waspinator joining the Children of the Vok and Blackarachnia temporarily becoming leader of the Predacons while Megatron was gone. Burnham also was going to push for the original Dinobots, or at least Grimlock, making an appearance in the book. Artist Josh Burcham wanted the final battle with Vok to feature the Tripedacus Council and the Maximal Elders showing up as combiners but that would have required at least 20 extra pages in the final issue to fully explain and pull off.
